I'm on chapter 4 and am hooked already. I forgot how good a writer Tess Gerritsen is, I used to love her stuff but it's probably been over a decade since I last read one of her books.

Yes! That was me too!
I finished the book earlier, and rated it a 3.5 stars.For it to be centered around Rizzoli & Isle (Who wasn't in the book), Moore played a bigger role then I thought.

There's Korsak in the series - is he in the books at all or is he the equivalent to Moore?
Isles starts coming in the next books if I remember rightly, it's been a long time since I read them so not sure about Moore and Kosaks either.I finished this one this morning, I gave it 5☆ when I first read it but 4☆ this time, I love how she writes though.
I can see why some people don't like her as she definitely knows what she is talking about with her medical jargon, the audio was really good for this as I don't know if I quid be able to pronounce them properly lol
We should carry on with the series though right???
I'd be interested in book two. Just to see if Rizzoli softens up and is able to not be an asshole all the time. Oh and to run Crowe over with her car.

But I've stopped at the end of Chapter 4 for now and so far, I quite like the book.
I'm not sure if I like Catherine Cordell though.

I will carry on with the series, as I just finished the second one...but only because I thought you all had past me...
This first one, it didn't seem like a Rizzoli and Isles novel , as I didn't notice Isles at all. Moore plays a big part, and it almost just seemed like Rizzoli is just a side kick, but that all changes with the second book. Makes you wonder if the author really intended to make it a series from the get go.
I plan to read book two next week some time.

Korsak is not in the first book, however he is in the second...besides that I won't post anything else as I don't want to put any spoilers put there.
I also didn't care for Catherine Much, but I feel like that was how the author wanted us to feel. She wanted us to feel how Rizzoli sees her.
I'm only about 20% in the first book, but I'm really enjoying it. This author reminds me of Karen Rose/Karin Slaughter books.
I'm on Chapter 8. Creepy but thrilling!!!

I'm at chapter 10 now. Catherine is starting to be a more likeable character, for me anyway. I keep seeing the Rizzoli from the TV series in my head which doesn't quite fit with the Rizzoli from the books, but is close!

I took my time too. It was good to read it slowly and sink into it.

I'm reading slowly too. I'm really liking it and I never watched the TV show, so I'm picturing her as I see her...
