SOLVED. 80s/90s MG book about kids with alphabetical names [s]

I think this was a series, or at least had a few books. The family had a bunch of kids (10ish?), and their names were all alphabetical. So the oldest's name started with A, the next was B, etc. I'm pretty sure there was a set of twins. Each chapter focused on a separate kid. I think the first book started with them moving from a city to somewhere in the country. I think one if the chapters involved a secret room or hidden passage in the new house. They got a pet at one point and its name started with Z so they could work backwards alphabetically. I likely ready it in the late 80s or early 90s, and I don't know how old it was when I read it.
