Nejc | 3 comments I remember reading a a fantasy book series (I believe it had 5 if not more books in the series) about dragons and steampunk war machines. It was in the late 90s/early 00s, but the realease date could have been before that, since it was a translated version.

Genre: Fantasy/Steampunk
Plot: I remember that it started on some sort of a dragon farm and it involved at least two people (both young/young adults), one female and the other male. I believe they were both dragon riders. The farm got attacked and they ran away with dragons. I think there was a steampunk war machine like fighting in the desert as well.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't seem to be the one I'm looking for.

Aslee (azagee) | 4 comments Could it possibly be the Pit Dragon novels, by Jane Yolen?

The series begins with Dragon's Blood, which is about a young slave who hides away a 'mute' dragon in the hopes to find his freedom. Eventually, he's joined by his owner's daughter, so that could be the female lead you remember!

I don't remember anything about a war machine, but it's been a good while since I've read them.

As for steampunk and dragons, I've never read this series, but I've had Temeraire recced to me a billion times, so that might be it??

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments Definitely not Temeraire.

This is NOT your book, but is in the theme, _The Iron Dragon's Daughter_.

Nejc | 3 comments Thanks for all the suggestions. I managed to find it in the library, it's called Broken Sky by Chris Wooding. Apparently there's no digital version of it either, which is a shame.

You can mark this request as solved by clicking the 'edit' link next to the subject line / title, and then selecting one of the "Solved" folders. This will help save our moderators some time.

You should also change the subject line / title to start "SOLVED: [then your existing title]" which helps people still find your request later.

Solved requests are almost as important as unsolved requests (eg - So don't delete your info :D Otherwise it looks like this, which completely doesn't show how you generated *so* much interest for your book.)
