Fishface | 18950 comments I have only seen STAR 80 and do not know how it compares to DEATH OF A CENTERFOLD, on the same subject. I do know STAR 80 chilled me to the bone and it would be hard to stack up to it.

Has anyone here seen both of them? Comments?

Fishface | 18950 comments I saw STAR 80 for the first time in ages because it was the anniversary. Still a great, disturbing movie. Apparently it was based "in part" on DEATH OF A CENTERFOLD, which is weird because that's another movie of the same story. Makes me wonder whether Peter Bogdanovich's book about her, The Killing of the Unicorn: Dorothy Stratten, 1960-1980, came out after both movies.

It's been too long.... I wanna say Star 80 but I always liked Hemingway

Fishface | 18950 comments Honestly, I never saw DEATH OF A CENTERFOLD because I couldn't see Jamie Lee Curtis successfully pulling off the role of Dorothy Stratten. And Eric Roberts was so brilliant as Paul Snider, I felt no need to go farther. He was incredible.
