Anna So the biggest issue seems to be the whole "Voldemort has a daughter" thing. But who's to say he actually does have a daughter? Who's to say that Delphie isn't some complete loon who has managed to convince herself that she's his daughter? I find it more believable that Delphie grew up as a mentally unstable orphan who found herself idolizing another mentally unstable orphan (Voldy) to the point that she manages to convince herself that he must be her father.

Yeah, it's a bit of a stretch. But it's not like they can do a paternity test on her. So maybe...

Richard My theory is it's a The Boys From Brazil thing. Someone got ahold of a Voldy toenail clipping and did some magic which allowed them to empregnate witches with Voldy's X-chromosome. It can be done since it's magic!

Anna Yeah I can't see Voldy wanting a child. People keep mentioning him not needing an heir, but more than that he would view a child as a rival. I mean he killed his own father. He would never risk that himself.

So either Delphi was unrelated (and insane) or Voldy had no idea about it.

HAHAHAHA I love this theory for some reason.

prag ♻ Or, Voldy figured he may lose so Delphi was a just in case kid who could resurrect him if he dies. Bellatrix is obviously the ideal choice because out of all his supporters, she was the most loyal and would have done anything for him. Even he cares about her to some extent, because he gets extremely mad when she dies.

Ruby Anna, you have suggested the best possible scenario. (By the way, the thread title is slightly spoilerific). I have no words for how ridikulus this plot element turned out to be. It goes against core things about Voldemort which eventually make it so that he's defeated! No love!

Totally wasn't thinking about the title being spoilery. Thanks! I updated it! :D

Yes! In my head it happened the same way! Shes just born in azkaban from an unknown deatheater and they have convinced her shes Voldys kid. To make her confident enough to stand up to the trio.

It even explains how she got into contact with Rodolphus. He wasnt released from Azkaban, or escaped. He told Delphi about her "parents" while growing up in azkaban.

And when she grew up they (the prison guards) decided Azkaban wasnt the place for a kid and they raised enough money to get Euphemia Rowle to take care of her.

The only real problem with this is Harrys scar hurting again...

Doesn't she speak Parseltongue to Harry/Voldy at one point? So she would at least have to be a descendant of Slytherin. Maybe everyone was wrong and Marvolo and his progeny were not the last of that line so Voldy might have had some second cousins or whatever but...

Anna The scar hurting could just be psychosomatic. Harry was worried and having bad dreams. He imagined it hurting.

As for the parseltongue. Slytherin lived thousands of years earlier. With how pureblood families "inbred" with each other, it's very likely there were a handful of other Death Eaters very distantly related to Slytherin.
