There's no way to get everything in this with one read. If it's been awhile, especially, try the audio. I'm glad I did.

This is a book that I like but don't like. I feel I should get more from it. So many people love this book. It keeps getting chosen for discussions over and over. I feel I am missing something. So once again I will be joining the discussion to see if I can find what I am missing
I read this last time and I think it was the turning point in my goodreads experience. It showed me that it's possible to have good discussions in on online bookclub too. (More than just 'I liked it.") Hearing other people's comments helped me to see the book differently. I hope new members enjoy this too.
Phil wrote: "This is an all-time favorite of mine and the inspiration for the best GR review I've ever seen: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show..."This is great. I remember talking to you about this book last year. Count of Monte Cristo was my first "I feel like an adult" book, but I haven't read it 14 times (not at 1200+ pages).
I never read the book, but I think I saw the movie a long time ago. :) Happy to catch up on this book and read your thoughts on it :D
Just finished the book, really loved it. Was surprised to find out Hugh Hefner published it in Playboy in the afterword. Can 100% see why people recommend this book in the Trump era, makes me realise that as a reader I have a greater role to play than simply consuming the knowledge for myself.
I have tried to read this numerous times. My daughter just read it for school so talked to me a little about it. I tried again to read it and I switched to the audiobook and now I’m almost done with it, finally. Enjoying it more than I expected but not one of my favorites.
Welcome everyone to our July 2020 Bookshelf Catch Up; this this is the fourth time this book has been featured as a group read.Friendly reminder that this is our spoiler-free thread. If you're ready to talk spoilers, feel free to head on over to the spoilers thread.
Who is joining in this read? Will it be your first time reading or is this a reread? Why do you think this remains a popular book club selection?
I just read this about 6 months ago, so I won't be re-reading it, as I have too many other books to read... But it's a wonderful book, and I hope you all enjoy it!
This is my first time reading this! I am trying to get into classics and this is quite short so hopefully its good!

But it deserves to be read and reread! There's a lot to ponder and discuss.
Haven’t read this since high school. I’m interested to see how my age now will influence my opinions of this one.
Any first-timers, be aware that it is not the easiest book to appreciate from one read. Lots of people think they don't like it, until they've actually discussed some of the things that confuse or bother them. I didn't like it the first *or second* time that I read it, but now it's one of my favorites. The audio that is narrated by the author is particularly illuminating if you can find it. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8...

Also be careful which edition you get because of bowdlerization/ censorship, as I said in my review: I learned that in the years following publication, until Judy-Lynn del Rey restored it 1979, this was quietly bowdlerized to the point of seventy-five instances of censorship. Ironic. And, of course, that means you want to pay attention to the edition you're reading. Especially if you want one "with all the damns and hells back in place" as Bradbury said.
I read this book for an English class in high school and I'm excited to enjoy the book. I can't remember much of it but I know it made an impact with me.
I've never heard of this book but I'm excited to read it! It'll definitely be different from what I usually read, lol 😁
I am a first time reader. I couldn't get an ebook copy so I tried an audiobook copy and ended up returning it the next day (disliked the narrator). Yesterday I was able to check out the audiobook narrated by Tim Robbins and it is so much better. The way he narrates is much more engaging and I'm enjoying it so far.
I am reading this book right now and seem to be enjoying it. It is going to be a slow read to truly be able to understand and follow the content, not a novel to be rushed over.
I just bought this, it's my first time reading so I don't know much about it but it sounds like a good premise, I'm hoping it lives up to good expectations too
This has been on my TBR for ages, I'm amazed I missed it during my 'dystopian SF' phase as a teenager :)So pleased to join in.
From what I've read so far, it seems it has only become more relevant over the decades...
Bradbury is a favorite author! and 451° is soooo good! One I enjoy reading over and over again. Also the 1966 movie is very good and sticks with you! Has anyone seen the 2018 movie?
This book has been chosen 4 times in 4 years by this group. That's an amazing compliment to the author, who wrote this on a pay-per-use typewriter in a library's basement.
It's been a few years since I've read the book, and I might reread it to join in the discussion or just read what others are saying. I wanted to share a quick recommendation of a pairing. Bradbury wrote a short story called "The Pedestrian" that explores some similar ideas to F451 in terms of his view of society/culture.
I feel like I'm late to the party but I finally got my copy from the library! I don't know how I managed to never read it before but I'm excited to finally check it off my tbr list
