LOL - I think you and I might be at the same part of the book. (view spoiler)

1. Jay feels slightly stalkerish in the beginning, then he just becomes manipulative of Matilda, seeming to me to force her into situations she may not want to do.
2. Matilda is such a mouse of a heroine! She goes along with the "manipulation", but she also doesn't stand up for herself!
3. Jessie is trouble, and doesn't care for how her actions can be harmful to herself. I foresee her being dead at some point because of her reckless nature.
4. The prologue really hasn't fit the rest of the book so far, other than a few casual mentions. I dislike dropping a mystery on a reader like this, as I prefer it woven throughout the entire story, not started at the beginning, ignored for the first half, then dropped into the middle and sprinting to the end of the book with it. Makes the mystery rushed, in my opinion.
I agree but the mystery will be dealt with as you continue the story.
Matilda: not just mousy but desperate too. But she seems like a nice girl
I do like Jay but he is manipulating situations.
Jessie: not developed well enough for me

I agree with the Matilda being mousey - she doesn't know how to act around others at all. Seems like she closed herself off after her Mom's death and only having her Dad to rely on.
Jay - definitely manipulates situations.

I finished it yesterday.
I didnt like Jay playing puppet master. I think sometimes you have to trust people and share things. I didn't find the ending to justify everything.
But the narration was one of the best

I've made it to ch. 13 and the back and forth is definitely starting to wear on me. I found it clever at first, but now it's getting pretty annoying... Get on with the story already!
:-P

you have some more chapters to go for it to be done unfortunately ~ totally frustrating, lol
All that build up and I didn't feel like it was worthy getting all hot and bothered for.
Thus I'm listening to Ty and Zane

I have to agree - I have about 1/2 hr left and I'm feeling just 'eh' about it.
I really want to get Cut & run on audio....

Was anyone else bothered by all the swearing? I feel like 90% of it was unnecessary and didn't even really fit where it was used. Ugh! I just wanna know if he ever gets the guys who killed his family!
Melissa,
If you get the cut and run via Amazon lend from someone, you can get the audio from $1.99-$3.49

Thanks - I'm going to post in M-M thread and see if someone has them to lend :)
It was exactly a 2.5 star for me too. I'm glad with the end but he didn't trust anyone and yo-yo'd her a lot.
Plus, he was such a master manipulator that the relationship felt uneven.
I'm glad they got "justice" but it Just didn't get me emotionally
