Life of Pi is a fantasy adventure novel by Yann Martel published in 2001. The protagonist, Piscine Molitor "Pi" Patel, a Tamil boy from Pondicherry, explores issues of spirituality and practicality from an early age. He survives 227 days after a shipwreck while stranded on a boat in the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal tiger named Richard Parker.

Up to chapter 21 (view spoiler)[ So far I'm incredibly bored... A couple of problems; he's taking to us too much, there's nothing that makes me feel like I'm actually there, part of the story. He also likes to list things, and they go on for way too long. I zone out a lot during those parts! I am liking the short chapters from another pov though. I'm guessing a psychiatrist of some sort, but I don't really know! (hide spoiler)]

Interesting observation though! He says he can't remember his mother, then he lists a hundred different tiny details about being on the boat... Interesting (hide spoiler)]

And all the little details about how he's making the raft and things like that really aren't entertaining after too much of the same thing (hide spoiler)]

But that kid? Did he actually meet someone? It does seem unlikely... I don't know, this whole book is just a bit strange (hide spoiler)]
