Introduction and Promotion

Thank you for welcoming me into your lovely group recently!
I would like to introduce myself and take the chance to share with you a current promotion I am running for my debut novel, The Cosmopolitan Islander.
I am a writer and business woman living on the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea. I write business and lifestyle articles for magazines, as well as advise companies on organisational change and communication. I am originally from Denmark, but grew up in a multicultural family and have lived in Brussels, the Middle East and London before moving to the island. My debut novel, The Cosmopolitan Islander, is inspired by my local and cosmopolitan journeys.
Words and playing with them have always been a great interest of mine. I am a linguist at heart, grew up in a bilingual family, speak four languages and read from an early age. I have written for many years, but it was primarily non-fiction; academic papers and corporate communication.
A few years ago I ventured into creative writing, starting with a few scribbles in a notebook and a writing course at London School of Journalism which whet my appetite further. When I moved to the island it opened the door for me to the opportunity of being more serious about my writing.
I believe most people have a story in them, but few get the chance to express it. It takes time and dedication – and a bit of wordsmithing skills. But if you have the desire and drive, go for it! Nothing ventured, nothing gained is my motto.
I hope you will enjoy reading my words as much as I enjoy writing them!
