SOLVED. YA book about a (dangerous) video game [s]

I'm looking for a book I've never actually read, someone told me about it and I completely forgot about the title or the author but it seemed like a really good book. I don't have a lot of information about the book, but I'll try to give as many details as possible.

The book is about teenagers, boys and girls, who are dragged into one particular video game that first doesn't seem harmful but soon it becomes clear the game is not as innocent as it seems. The game is very addicting, I think, and lots of teenagers play it.
I think it's kind of a dystopian book but I'm not entirely sure. I don't know who made the video game and why, I don't think there are aliens involved, maybe that helps... A friend told me about this book a few years ago, so I think the book is fairly new, written in this century I mean.

I have very few information about this book, I am very sorry but I really hope someone can help me because I've spent a lot of time searching this book on the internet and I didn't find anything. Thanks!

These don't sound exactly right based on your description, but could it be Ready Player One or possibly The Eye of Minds? Both involve teens and video games in a dystopian setting.

It's not exact but Insignia has teenagers being enlisted in an army run almost completely with video game strategy, full of augmented reality and coding.
