DOES AMAZON GIVEAWAY help in promoting, or is it left up solely to the seller?

Hi, Everyone

If anyone has hosted an Amazon Giveaway, I would like to ask: Does Amazon help in promoting your giveaways, or is it totally left up to you?

This question was posed to me, and I would like to know, too. It isn't covered in their FAQ section. I searched and searched but can't find any way to get in touch with the Amazon Giveaway people to ask. If anyone knows the answer, please state it here.

Well, from an author's perspective I don't know how their promotion works, but as a subscriber to Amazon's book newsletter, I see promos all the time. They have a Deal of the Day list, and I get "Based on your interests, we thought you would like this book that is on sale" they also send me notices when books in my wish list go on sale. I have never seen anything called Amazon Giveaway, but that is probably a back-end term linked to something else on the consumer end.

Happy to help! I would recommend that you do all you can to promote your giveaway as well.

There are lots of ways to do this. Most GoodReads groups have folders for promotions and giveaways, you can host a blog tour around the giveaway, and there are a lot of sites that you can announce your giveaway on. All of these suggestions are free, save a bit of work. I do them whenever I do a Rafflecopter giveaway and usually see a lot of involvement from them.

My understanding is you do all the work. I read through the text pretty carefully and it sounds to me like it's completely up to you. Kboards has a few authors that have tried it and the results weren't enough to entice me to give it a try.
