I pretty much wanna memorize the first 2 pages as a quote since it exactly sums up my traveling mania and how the sight or sound or suggestion of traveling can give me a physical response like excitement and anxiety - like the feeling I felt when I heard the music at my first discotheque's - actual cramps in my tummy of anticipation.
I can also relate to how people say you should grow out of it eventually, though that never seems to happen.
Now when he says he is a 'man's man' I realized we were not actually the same person, but still the intro was downright eerie in summing up sensations I have felt about travel.

Wanted to take a moment to say I enjoyed this book thoroughly!
Anyone who is loves travel and the study of people is likely to be as enamored. Steinbeck really has a way of putting feelings in to words that hits the nail right on the head. Though our times are quite different I've had many similar thoughts rolling in my head that I wasn't quite able to put into the right words.
I had many 'Eureka! That's it!' moments upon reading.
If you have not finished it yet, don't despair! Still over a week left in this section for reading and I would love to hear other's thoughts on it.
Highly recommended!
