Hi everyone. I've been on Goodreads for three years now and never really got into the group aspect of it. Many of my friends do not really care for reading and I was looking for a group to meet people with the same interests and just have some fun. After my first attempt at joining a group failed (pretty much the same people dominated the conversation and ignored other group members' contributions), I wanted to join groups where everyone felt welcome. This group seems to be a good place to start. =) Plus, the name of the group, Drop Everything And Read (DEAR), reminded me of my elementary school days when we participated in DEAR at least once a day - and it was my favorite part of the day!
