Have you read a book that you just plain hated and couldn't read anymore?
Post here why.

I recently tried to read How to Betray a Dragon's Hero and I really didn't like it.
It was boring. Plus, the illustrations of the characters were really horrible (idk if that was the point) and made me feel really sick. :P
I just couldn't bring myself to read it anymore.

How to Betray a Dragon's Hero (How to Train Your Dragon, #11) by Cressida Cowell

Awareness by Anthony de Mello. Here's why: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Candide by Voltaire. It disgusted me so that I had to stop.

Wow, that book sounds so stupid.. They should wake up to the reality that has Jesus in it.

True.

Hadessephy | 25 comments The Prince and the Pauper, by Mark Twain. I love anything about Tudor history and although the book has a great premise I could not stand the writing style. Had to put it down.

Aw, that's too bad I've always loved that book. Have you tried reading an abridged version? They're normally easier to understand. I always loved The Whipping Boy, a similar book but with a different plot. It is a lot more simplistic and is for a younger age group but I loved it a lot especially when I was a couple of years younger.

I have this version: The Prince and the Pauper (Great Illustrated Classics) by Shirley Bogart , and I like it.

Hadessephy | 25 comments I uses to love the illustrated classics! I've probably read that years ago, but the unabridged version gave me a headache! Hehe

Tamara Georges (tamarasinnamon) I used to color in all the pictures in those books! It was my favorite activity besides reading them. :)

Celestial That's so cute. :)

I never thought of that... My brothers love looking at the pictures, but I'm glad they didn't think of it! Talk about messy!

I have read the Whipping Boy. :) I have probably read an abridged version of PAP but was trying to through the actual book. Didn't happen lol! I'm also trying to get through Dracula and Hunchback of Notre Dame, Dracula is readable but not so sure about HOND. Hehe

Jasey | 33 comments Dorothy Must Die. I started it hoping for a good book, but it was setting itself up as average YA fantasy pretty early on.

message 15: by Hadessephy (new)

Hadessephy | 25 comments I also had to stop reading the fourth book in The Fallen series by Lauren Kate. Not that the other three were any better (they were dreadful to be honest) but by number 4 I just couldn't do it anymore. This series is like the Queen of YA garbage. And I think they want to make it into a movie?! Why?! Maybe it will translate better on screen.

"20,000 Leagues Under The Sea"

This book bored me to death and I had to read it for homeschool a few years back. I kept falling asleep repeatedly and this story goes on and on.

The movie version was WORSE!

Good to know!
