Deborah, we're doing a buddy read of the Harry Potter series if you want to join us over there - doesn't matter how fast or what order you're reading in as long as you mark spoilers!
I'm onto Goblet of Fire now - hoping to read it all today for the readathon.
I'm onto Goblet of Fire now - hoping to read it all today for the readathon.
Starting Watership Down. Going to finish it and Dogwood Hill over wendsday and thursday. Unfortunitly, we are going into overtime mode at work, so this is goanna be a slow reading month.
Finished Aurora... wow. This book got quite a bit darker than I expected when I started it! But it was excellent.I will write a review soon.
Finished The Atomic Weight of Love. I really enjoyed this. And I think it will work for the Dog Days mini - atomic is hot, right? Not sure what's next.
I finished A Bollywood Affair. I spent a nice day on the bed with three terrified dogs and a cat and read most of the book today. I don't know what's next. I'll update.
Holy Crap! I just finished Mirror Dance by Lois McMaster Bujold and it blew me away. I literally can't decide what to read next because my brain is still so completely in that world. :o
I just finished The War of the Worlds by H.G.Wells. I feel the same way, I am still in that Victorian World that is under attack by Martians. Now I switch to a Civil War setting in The Unvanquished by William Faulkner
Well I read enough Harry Potter yesterday to dream about it and still have enough leftover for tonight. Hurry up, work!!
I've just finished A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen - An interesting play originally published in 1879 but with resonance still today. Going to finish reading Guantánamo Diary and The Cuckoo's Calling. Also started Cat's Cradle as it is a slim read easily carried around with me. Should be a fun reading week!

Still (re-)reading the Temeraire series, onto Tongues of Serpents now. (I keep failing to update this every day, or on finishing books, but remembered today)
The weekend was full of unexpected distractions. But I did get The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo finished late last night. Loved it! Hoping I can get the next one in the series at the library.
Jenn wrote: "Still (re-)reading the Temeraire series, onto Tongues of Serpents now. (I keep failing to update this every day, or on finishing books, but remembered today)"I've been meaning to reread the series too so I can catch up to the last (few?) books I've not read yet.
Just finished Peel Back the Skin: Anth[book:Year's Best Hardcore Horror Volume 1ology of Horror Stories|29465494]
Jenny wrote: "Yes I am hehe! And yea, reading fast can be anoying. Are you going to read Order of the Phenox?"I missed this Jenny - I had already finished that one - I have saved Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to read over this weekend and another series all finished :(
Reading is just not going to happen for me this week, so I'm going to bow out of the Readathon. Hopefully I'll be more prepared for a challenge on the next go-around.
I finished The Sunlight Pilgrims and hope to finish Of Mice and Men today. Then I can start Cannery Row since it's in the same book as Of Mice and Men. I've also started listening to The Silent Sister on audiobook.
Cool Deborah, Deathly Hallows is a good weekend read! I know the feeling of finishing a series, I always feel lost!
Finished Chocolat volume 2 now. 6 left in the series, I'll try and finish before the end of the readathin, but not sure if I can.
Just finished The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith. What a fun read! Looking forward to when I can read the next one. Not sure what I'll read next - most likely The Princess Bride.
Finished The Unvanquished. It was like stepping back in time to the Civil War. Great story written from the viewpoint of the South. Plot and sentence structure was easy, unusual from William Faulkner.
Read Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad April Fools Special. I am excited to get the regular series now!
I finished the novella, The Borders of Infinity (Bujold), after starting and discarding several other things that just weren't right for me this week. Not sure what I'll do next. Might be Cranford, The Hobbit, or back to sea with Jack and Stephen.
I finished The Portrait Of A Lady. Thats what I love about readathons. It pushes me to finish books I'm almost done with. I can't read one book at a time. I have several books I'm reading at same time.
Wow - look at all the books being read :0)Just finished the excellent The View from the Cheap Seats: Selected Non-fiction which I recommend to all book lovers :0)
I found Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell to be really slow, Sonia. Really nice writing, but kind of boring.
I didn't have much reading time during the week, but I'm making up for it today. I polished off The Vor Game, and am onto River God now. That will probably take me through the rest of the readathon - I hope I can finish it in two days!
Finished Lord of the Flies and still working on Pillars of the Earth. I won't finish by Monday but I'm hoping to get it done by the 15th because that's the deadline I set for myself to start my book club's next pick...Night Circus.
The Vor Game! Great stuff!
I finally got a copy of The Summer Before the War from my local library. So far it's terrific.
