SOLVED. A girl called cab, because she was born in a cab. Title may have "Moon" in it [s]

I feel like the first line of the book was "My name is cab. Because i was born in a cab." She might be arriving in a new town, or moving back to an old one. I believe she or another character is raped or assaulted... The cover of the book was mainly blue, and i think had a moon on it - based on this, the title may have had "moon" in it?
I would have read it in the early to mid 90's, not sure when it was published.
I'm sorry, that's all i can remember.
