Yeah I was a couple of hundred pages into Seveneves a few months ago and knew I wouldn't get chance to finish it as I had other books to prioritise so I put it back on my shelf and I'm planning to restart it in a few weeks to gain the points lol
I had the same thought, Hailee! I was going to start The Burning God a few days ago and decided to wait until today so I'll be able to add the points.

The link is RSS FEED LInk or you can find it at the bottom of the bookshelf page.
You'll want to copy that link into your aggregator and presto.

Feedly is pretty great and I think outlook has one built in to the program too. I use it for my local news updates, sports stuff, blogs i follow updates, etc. Good for author updates to their blogs, etc.

Blog post.
I am struggling to understand who is anticipating them. Maybe I'm out of the loop but I don't recognize a lot of the authors until you get to the continuing series :)
Of course not recognizing them means....more for the old neverending bookshelp of "to-reads".

No clue...I also don't know most of the authors. There's only a few on the list I've heard of..

Yeah, those are my favorites too
I recognized 4 authors from the new series list... altho a number of the titles/covers have me interested in reading the blurbs...

I think someone on the GR staff got a bit excited writing the post... if Thorn of Emberlain is coming out this year, it'll be news to me when it does...
Any time an author like this talks about finally releasing the next book, it feels like it just gets hopes up and then doesn't deliver...
I remember when I followed Stacia Kane's continued assurances that Unholy Luck was finally going to see the light of day, 4-5 years ago... the first 5 books came out over a span of 2 years... and it's been nearly 9 since the last full length book... some short stories were managed in the first year or 2 after the last book came out... since then, nothing but assurances...
It's such a great, weird series, too... drug-addicted, post-apocalyptic ghost hunter... not sure I'd be able to read today or re-read in general, tho... I actually never read the newest book, knowing a bit about how cliffhanger-y it was...

Yeah, I think I'll believe Thorn has published when I see it physically in stores. And I agree about long waits not always delivering. Even if it does publish this year, I'm going to hold off and wait for reviews to see.

Anyway I've only watched a couple of episodes but I'm loving it!! The Emperor is like a character out of a grimdark novel dropped into a period drama and it's bloody brilliant; Nicholas Hoult plays it so well. Love both him and Elle Fanning. It's so funny and sweary too lol.

They all seem to agree it'll be published in August though 🤣

The Baddest Girl on the Planet

He'll probably release it right between new GRRM and Rothfuss.

Oh you cynic! 😅

I don't get the similarities 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. And I definitely don't want to read it, even if it does sound hilarious:
"It's difficult to love a woman whose vagina is a gateway to the world of the dead.
Steve is madly in love with his eccentric girlfriend, Stacy. Unfortunately, their sex life has been suffering as of late, because Steve is worried about the odd noises that have been coming from Stacy's pubic region. She says that her vagina is haunted. She doesn't think it's that big of a deal. Steve, on the other hand, completely disagrees.
When a living corpse climbs out of her during an awkward night of sex, Stacy learns that her vagina is actually a doorway to another world. She persuades Steve to climb inside of her to explore this strange new place. But once inside, Steve finds it difficult to return... especially once he meets an oddly attractive woman named Fig, who lives within the lonely haunted world between Stacy's legs."

Oh my! 😂 Goodreads recommendations are usually way off for me too.

Maybe it's weirder now with other things GR admins are doing?... one day, comment search was offline... another day "Add book/author" searches weren't returning accurate results...

More entertainment value this way at least 😂

Could well be. I don't really pay that much attention to the recommendations anyway I already have plenty to read after all. I just found this one particularly funny.

Oh yea... spreadsheets are the best...
I have a spreadsheet that tracks every book series I've ever started (over 700, I think)... gives me a better overview of everything... a year or 2 ago, I merged everything into a Master Sheet, and started using filters to populate the other easier to read sheets...
I ran a new release sheet for 2019 and 2020, but never updated for 2021...

I don't want to go quite that far over the edge, just need to make sure I have everything scheduled or timed right works well enough. Goodreads does have enough healthy stats baked into the behind the scenes too.

Yea... it was alot of work, but setting it up means I can check alot of things at a glance that would require alot of loading on GR... the real timesink was linking to all the book/series pages...
Half the reason I created it, was as a nexus point for books that keep getting delayed, or never get added to GR until they release... I'd forget all about them, without a spreadsheet to remind me...
Of course, then I fall behind on updating it, and it kinda defeats the point, but oh well...

Haha that really is the deep end. I tried at the beginning of the year to figure out a schedule on paper and it failed me by March. I’m not good a predicting how long a read will take me these days. I do quite like the idea of plunking new release dates into google calendar though.
Iain that spreadsheet must be a work of art.

*sigh* Alas, my Goodreads TBR has become unruly and overgrown, and I've thought about pruning and tagging and creating some semblance of order to make things easier to find, but at this point I've resigned myself to let it go to seed and grow wild.

I remember enjoying it when it came out. I was a big Dragonlance and Weis/Hickman fan back in the day, but I haven't picked it up again since the last book came out. I think part of me thought it went on for too long too, but hard to say. What I do remember is it was the first series as a teenager I put on hold at the library before each new book had been released. I also remember annoying the librarian with my requests. Something to do with formating it on the card we had to handwrite correctly! Shocking to see that they released all seven books from 90 to 94.
Something telling though that I always took Deathgate out from the library and bought all the Wheel of Time in paperback...

Yes my Goodreads TBR is over 500. I spent some time the other deleting a bit. Have to do a lot more!
I'm a slave to my google calendar between my schedule, adding everything from work and sharing it with my wife's schedule, so it feels like the best way to keep track of my reading schedule is to have it in a separate calendar in the same place. It lightens the mood to contrast against all those meetings and doctor appointments, etc.

What about you guys? Find anything fun?
Incase anyone's interested here's the 11 books I couldn't leave behind:
A Peculiar Peril
What Big Teeth
The Sisters of the Winter Wood
The Near Witch
Bunny
The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove
Foundation
Naamah's Kiss
The Haunting of Maddy Clare
Mongrels: A Novel
Kill the Farm Boy
I spent like $80... Soo spent around $200?... we mentioned our hauls in the Vagabond Treehouse thread...
We both got A Peculiar Peril... she might have more overlap... I don't think I do... altho you definitely picked up a fair amount of books I've already read...
Winter's Wood, Near Withc, Naamah's Kiss...
I picked up alot of SF and Time Travel books... it's usually what I do with the sales... I pickup just about any time travel book that seems decent...

I've done it now anyway and you can mark the whole question as a spoiler- the only thing is, you can't indicate which book it's a spoiler for, so how will people now when it's safe to read it?! Utterly nonsensical, honestly! I don't know why they haven't given this site a complete makeover!
Are you asking the author or the book page? I'm pretty sure an author could just choose not to answer a spoiler question to avoid spoilers being visible...
This year, every "weekend" (my 2 days off, anyway), I'm like "this weekend I'm going to get so much reading done", and 9 times out of 10 the weekend ends and I've read like 50-100 pages max... sometimes I read a couple books, but not often...

That's why I've been watching them. Nara doesn't let me read much!
Looks like I procrastinated long enough for almost all Michael R. Fletcher books to become audiobooks... Manifest Delusions, Obsidian Path, City of Sacrifice...
I wanted to BR some of these like 4 years ago now...

I'm at like 54% into Assassin's Quest. Killing me that I can't add it to the challenge and that i have so much to go but.....it's a damn good book :)
