That's pretty cool Tammie!

All soul but no talent (talent might be the wrong word here).
No, I think you're right, talent is the word.
I love words, love writing, love reading, but when it comes to writing something completely made up I'm at a loss. All heart but no really talent for creating.
See, I find this really interesting. I've always sort of thought that most readers will have some sort of affinity to creating stories because they read so much and their imagination is so broad in order to do so.

In high school I also wrote a book I shared with friends but that has been long lost on a flash drive I no longer have. Probably for the best, I don't know if I'd want to read it.

But definitely draw inspiration from all sorts of things, life experiences, other people's life experiences, concepts and ideas that I love, relationship dynamics that I like, etc. etc. I also grew up writing and reading a lot of fanfic. REALLY good at starting projects, but rarely good at finishing 🤣 So atm, I'm more of a reader and that's good enough for me unless I put more focus on it. 😂
The next question is how many people play D&D... it's a low pressure way to flesh that desire to create...
I don;t play D&D, but I watch D&D, and alot of writers (comedians, script writers, authors) do Actual Play stuff...

being a player has a lot of creativity too, depending how in-depth you get with your backstory & interactions...

I feel like I could write a recycled story. Example being if there's an apocalypse where all books/movies vanished, I could probably retell a bunch of stories. Keep the world of Valdemar, or the shire alive for future generations, but creating all new characters in a brand new world is something that I have trouble with. Might just be I'm impatient and reading is so much easier than writing lol.
@Iain I've played a few D&D sessions but not many and the groups always ended up falling apart (just random life stuff, kids, jobs, ect. adulting is hard and time consuming). It definitely took me a little bit to get more creative with my character. Never DM'd anything though, I just went along for the ride.

Never played any D&D or any tabletop RPs, but I've RPed in lots of other ways (computer games, play by (e) mail and on computer servers. I'm a member of the Roleplayer Guild online - it's basically you and other people (could be one or several) playing a RP by writing down your character(s) actions, and what happens next. I find it a lot of fun.

Gems of War is a money machine that ate my money... had to force myself to quit... I initially played when Mab and the new ice mechanics were OP... then they immediately nerfed and turned around and released a kingdom of cards to counter Mab tactics...
It really scratched that Puzzle Quest itch in a unique way, for a bit, tho... if I could just curb my spending I could have played it for years...

I got hooked on the early 90% off deals, then spent some more on the Mab stuff... had a few solid weeks, and went for high PVP rank once... but I quickly knew that wasn't sustainable... I tried returning a few years later, and the game was quite a bit different, and quite a bit more popular, with season passes and stuff... much less likely to be able to top rank PVP anymore, either... quit again faster, because the urge to spend was high...
Just looking at the image makes me want to play again… the game is well designed to siren song me into drowning at sea…
I mostly play casual, solo, idle games and puzzles these days… coloring pixels hexceed picross/nonograms, etc… and a few old standby RPG and collector games…

I agree Mei!! I'm in touch with quite a few of us on Instagram though so that helps!
it seems like a great idea when the site breaks down, but completely unnecessary the other 90-99% of the time...
I guess, if the site ever truly breaks for more than a few hours, we can always set something up through the spreadsheet announcement section...

definitely less failures, since I got home from shopping 90 minutes ago... maybe 0 failures, actually...

Back when there was a Feedback Group, they used to say that they had data that showed XYZ time of year was the slowest time of the year for the website, and best for doing maintenance/etc to the site...
But if that were true, why don't they just pre-warn people with a banner saying "service will be spotty this week, as we work to improve the website backend / do some routine maintenance", instead of leaving people guessing if the website is being DDoSed by hackers messing with people...

The thread is properly set to August for #3. But when I put it in, I put it in wrong. Yanique caught it & fixed it in the thread, but I think this list might be copied straight from the excel request list...

I tend to look up the ISBN or ASIN when adding books (to ensure it has the cover I have).

yeah, I was searching for a book earlier and it gave me loads of French editions.

Lol, Iain, don't you do this on virtually every BR when you're talking about something you're passionate about?! *The irony* :p
