Well, I finished The Glass Magician. It's better than The Paper Magician. However, still gets 3 stars. Started The Master Magician today. It's really interesting to compare the magic system in these books to the Elemental Magic in Mercedes Lackey's Elemental Magic World. Since I'm currently reading both.

Good to know. I'll continue on with the series at some point.

Daniel (danjf) Just finished a knockout of a book called Uprooted by Naomi Novik. Its a great fantasy read. Definitely recommend it. Right now im halfway through Fool Moon by Jim Butcher. So far so good. It's book #2 in his Dresden Files series. Same main characters, same prose, and same can-do attitude from his protagonist, as book #1, Stormfront. Should be done in a few days and gonna give August's book of the month a shot. Sounds like a good read.

Monica Davis Waited weeks for a library copy of Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell...finally got one today. Let's see if it stands up to the "hype".

Javier (salvatemarty) | 115 comments Working on a re-read of Storm of Swords.
Really great things happen when you wait a lot of time and re-read a really great and complex book such as this.
I'm also dealing with a Latin-american fiction writer such as Gabriel García Marquez, although it's not fantasy at all!
Cheers!

Thanks, Dan. It was slow in the beginning...took several chapters to get me invested in the story, but good so far.

Ok, finished The Master Magician and I have to say the third one is the best of the trilogy. Also, one has to read this one to wrap all of the other two into a really nice tale. Truth be told this will make a great Omnibus. Anyway, for those who have only read the first or first two, I would recommend reading the third to get the complete picture and joy out of this trilogy. Started Nine Princes in Amber and have to say it really has started off great.

Thanks, Tnkw01! I'll move books 2 and 3 up on my reading list.
