Searching for posts

Is there a way to search for posts we've made? I have a query which I'm sure was answered for me once before, but I don't know how to find my original thread.

hover your mouse over your name in this post and a little window appears saying "comment history"
or you can search your name in the search bar on the right ------>>>> but you will get all Janet's
