My friend got my this really nifty glossary of WOT (The Wheel of Time Companion) that has all of the characters and such...but I don't wanna spoil too much for myselfXD
I think a single thread would work better for WoT than most long-running series... mostly because the middle of the series is largely mired in long-running multi-book storylines... storylines where people being in different books wouldn't affect the discussion much...
I am part of the current WoT group thats been reading since 2017. We read one book every two months. I do think reading 2 books a month works if you want to basically binge the whole series, but if you want to continue reading other books too, than 2 is too much. Just my 2 c.

And we can still do a roughy bi monthly goal too, And just have everyone read at their own pace.

Slower is definitely better for this series :) What book are you guys on now Jess? I saw it in the calendar a while ago.

City of Lies by Sam Hawke
The Court of Broken Knives by Anna Smith Sparks
The Mirror Empire by Kameron Hurley
The Queen of Blood by Sarah Beth Durst
Gunmetal Magic by Ilona Andrews

The second half of either month would be best for me.

There are only like 3/4 of us at this point! But that’s ok, we mostly just remind each other of things we’ve forgotten!

I'm up for Gunmetal Magic. Perfect timing, it's right where I'm at in the series :)
Does anyone want to read The Lunar Chronicles (Cinder) by Marissa Meyer, or the Villains duology (Vicious) by V. E. Schwab? :)

@Angela I’d be interested in that villains duology at some point! I’m just a bit booked at the moment 😅 When did you want to read them ideally?
Angela Jr. wrote: "Does anyone want to read The Lunar Chronicles (Cinder) by Marissa Meyer, or the Villains duology (Vicious) by V. E. Schwab? :)"I can join for both if you can wait till 19 October.

Awesome! I know you're a Kay fan :)
How about 20th September for Tigana and 20th Oktober for Court of Broken Knives?

Saar The Book owl wrote: "So, how are we planning the BR for WoT now?"I think Elinor mentioned a group WOT message board? One thread for the entire series, read at your own pace kinda deal. I know other boards on this site do something similar ^~^ Anyone correct me if I misread the posts XD
Generally, for regular monthly BRs, you request using the new Form page (once for each book in the series, so it takes awhile): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FA...
But with series threads, generally someone can just make a thread in the Book Club folder, and then mention it to Niki in the summary thread...
Folder: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...
Hub: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Series BR threads can also go in author folders if one exists... i think Robert Jordan has an active folder: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group...

I know I follow a YA thread that follows method you mention above. Having someone in the group in charge of the thread helps because you can update the book being currently read and have some kinda list at the top for where everyone is at, etc.
So the question is...which of us wants to be in charge of the thread for WOT? XD

Yep, if that's alright with you guys. I wouldn't be able to start it in 2019.
Also I've been wanting to tip my toes more in mysteries (especially in cozies) and I was wondering if there were people interested in a Mystery Book Club ?

Definitely... I read a bunch this year, mostly in March/April/May...
I read a couple Poirot mysteries in January/February, then 12 Her Royal Spyness, 8 Gaslight Mysteries, 4 Thomas Pitt, and a couple others I'm probably forgetting... I liked the historical cozies more than the Urban Fantasy ones... the UF ones just seemed stupid... main characters missing obvious clues/suspicious things to allow the plot to play out...
I also read all the Sebastian St. Cyr books in 2017, and tried Damien Seeker this year (bit too dark and gritty for what I was looking for)...
So yea, I'd be interested in a Mystery Club, as long as the books have audio available...

I will be setting the thread for WoT then ! :DThat's great Iain ! I hope we can find other people too since you might get frustrated with my reading pace and how I don't usually binge series. I will be creating a thread as well :)

Yea... the 3 months I spent reading Historicals, Mysteries, and Cozies, this year, I read 39-42 books per month... half the time, I was reading 2 mysteries a day... mysteries fly by so fast... I only just got back into Her Royal Spyness yesterday, and I'm 2 books from caught up... I still have over a dozen Gaslight Mysteries, but I stopped when the narrator changed, because the "new" narrator reads the books very differently... I put "new" in quotes because really, they hired someone to go back and do the first 8 books years after doing books 9+, so there's no chance of getting the narrator back, even tho I loved her performance...
The Thomas Pitt books are interesting, because the author was convicted of helping kill her friend's mother in 1954, because the friends didn't want to be separated by a move to another country...

I'm always so in owe regarding your reading pace ^^
Her Royal Spyness, Gaslight Mysteries and Thomas Pitt are all series I've been interested in... Really need to try them at some point :)
I'm currently reading A Great Deliverance, not really a cozy but it's been quite nice so far :)
I've also been wanting to read Crime & Punctuation, Cocaine Blues, At Bertram's Hotel, Murder at the Brightwell, if there is one that strikes your fancy ^^ (I need to look at my shelves to find more because there definitly are more !)
