Great!!! I started last night but only read the prologue. It will be slow though as i am not a fast reader and i would like to enjoy this than rush it.
Could one of admins set this up for us please? If anyone else would like to read this at a slow pace let us know

Yes certainly - they're there for your enjoyment. A perk of a new thread is that it gets a fresh spot on the schedule and can generate interest for a bigger reading group, but seeing as you're starting today the old thread is just fine. :)

Date set this month, off the top of my head I think it's the 24th? Not too long for you to catch up, but obviously it will take us some time to get through Well of Ascension so you can just jump on as soon as you can :)

message 1567: by Martin (last edited Nov 17, 2017 04:05AM) (new)

Martin Apergis Hey guys so after finishing my 1st Potter book I can dive into Mistborn The Final Empire (Mistborn, #1) by Brandon Sanderson properly now starting today. I know one more person would like to read it with me and ive said i may be very slow as i dont want to rush it but to enjoy the world. If anyone else likes to join let us know we will be using the old thread for this read.
Just a question is there a quick way for me to pull up that thread and post in there without having to search for it through all the threads when i want to post something?

message 1570: by Shaitarn (new)

Shaitarn | 2185 comments Would anyone be interested in reading the Forgotten Realms Harpers series, starting with The Parched Sea? They're all single, stand-alone novels by different authors (of different levels of writing skill, it must be said) and fairly light reads.

Your buddy read tracker will be filling up in no time missus! XD

message 1578: by Anni (new)

Anni | 5066 comments Haha, yes! But to be honest I wouldn't have joined if this was a longer book or a series. I plan to (fingers crossed) only join Buddy Reads for Series I already own, at least until I get my pile of unfinished series down... ;) And as the Standalones are rare here I hope my Tracker will be fine.

Honestly that is what I do! These buddy reads are such a great motivator for me to get through my owned books. Something might sit on my shelf years before I get to it, but if you suggested it tomorrow I'd be like, I own that! Great opportunity to read it! :D I love it.

I plan on reading it

EchoBaz(Unofficial World's Fastest Reader) | 459 comments Figured I'd ask this again.

Anyone interested in a buddy read in Blood and Tempest (Empire of Storms, #3) by Jon Skovron It comes out this month, and I'd really love to read it with someone else who's into the series and has been looking forward to it.

I can't, I've not read the first two books, and I have so many to get through right now.

message 1585: by Shaitarn (new)

Shaitarn | 2185 comments Would anyone be interested in reading the three Master Li and Number Ten Ox books, starting with Bridge of Birds? I have read these before, but when I thought about it I was shocked by how long ago it was and I'd like to read them again.

:D can we be Tempests and Slaughter buddies? Do we need to recruit more people first? Is there a form I need to fill out? (I have no idea how his works)

message 1588: by RuinEleint (new)

RuinEleint Anyone want to read Anathem by Neal Stephenson as a buddyread? Preferably sometime early next year.

EchoBaz(Unofficial World's Fastest Reader) | 459 comments Margret wrote: "Morte- if you decide to not read it immediately after release day I may be able to catch up and BR with you."

Sure. When would be a good month for you?

Sha, as long as there are two people wanting to do a buddy read, then you are all set to have a buddy read thread for the book created :-). Usually you'll find some more people do join once a thread is created.

I'm interested in getting some Forgotten Realms books read over the next year for some classic nostalgia! If you're cool to wait for a little bit so I can grab a copy, I'm definitely in for that, and indeed any FR series :)

message 1594: by Seán (new)

Seán | 602 comments I would also be very tempted to re-read Anathem - it's one of my top-ten books ever, I want to see if that still holds true after the few years since I've read it!

That's fine with me, Sean; I've got quite a few FR books on my shelves, so let me know if you're interested in doing a buddy read of them!

I'm down for giving it a shot. When do you wanna start?

Edit: I like how they're all stand alone. I don't like one, I can just bow out and come back next month.

Would love to do this with a TON of forgotten realms books :D
