Laura (lauradragonchild) | 6554 comments Either March or April is ok with me. But do you want to start with the first book Maciel or with the second as you are reading the first now?

For those of you who did not read Guns of the Dawn with us you really should put it high on your priority list especially if you're a Danielle Abraham fan. I still have 100 pages left but unless it falls off a cliff it's 5*'s from me and I think everybody else has given it a 5* as well with one 4*.

I will be reading a lot more of Adrian Tchaikovsky in the future.

I've never read anything by him, but he's an author that's on the list. I have Children of Time sitting on the shelf, but am definitely in more of a flintlock fantasy mood than a sci-fi one. I'll definitely grab Guns if I see it around in the next while.

I support Scott's advice. I was very impressed with Guns of the Dawn and I am a fussy reader.

I'm good for either of them as long as it's a bit later in the month. I seem to have lots of reads starting on the 5th!

Scott, would you like to join or do you think you'll be reading it sooner?

Yep 3 of us so far I think. But you never know, others may join us.

message 1385: by Maciel (new)

Maciel | 39 comments Ohhh I also want to request a thread to our beloved mods for our buddy read of The Wars of Light and Shadow series :D we are only three so far but I hope others join us later. We plan to begin the buddy read around March or April so there is still time for people to join \(*0*)/

message 1386: by Laura (new)

Laura (lauradragonchild) | 6554 comments I think we could set it for March 15 as an approximate date Maciel, then change it later if needed. If the thread is there maybe more people will join. Would that be ok?

I'm a bit cooked on JA at the moment so that's far too soon for me. I might attempt it next summer. Hopefully you'll find some takers.

@Charlie/Betse: There's actually a Buddy Read of The Lies of Locke Lamora set up for mid-December... they haven't set up the follow-up BRs yet for Red Seas Under Red Skies or The Republic of Thieves, but I assume they will be around the same time in January & February... I'm planning to follow the discussion of the first book then in December and join in on the later books in January/Feb... I read The Lies of Locke Lamora myself this past April...
