I was approved for Age of Swords on Netgalley, but haven't read Age of Myth yet. Does anyone want to read the first one with me (and the second one, if you have it)? I have to get a copy, but I would like to start this month if possible.

I would love to join you on reading age of myth since I've been meaning to get back to Sullivan for awhile and I think I can do somewhere before the 20th since I will be very busy with other reads afterwards unless you have a date in mind
How about 12th or the 13th next week that way I have time to finish the book I'm reading and squeeze a short one also I have some time so that I could read malice on the 18th is that ok??
AOM was really good. I'll set that up for the 12th. AOS is due out this month and I might be up for group reading that based upon timing.

But I have it on preorder so I can read it with you after it's released.
C.P. wrote: "Awww, too bad you didn't get it. :( Maybe we can plan to start that one when it releases."I guess it's still a possibility I could get it. They haven't said no, just haven't ever replied.
I was just approved today, so it could still happen. Let me know and we can start earlier (once I finish book one) if you do get it.
Anyone interested in reading Empire in Black and Gold mid October / November. I know it's a long way out, but let me know if anyone is interested. Scott I think we talked about this book ages ago, but the year has gotten away on me book reading wise.
I think I might join since I'm going to read guns of dawn in a buddy read in October and I'm really interested in the authors books

I think I'm going to start Leviathan Wakes in October which has 9 published books (two are half books 5.5 and 6.5) and there's two more due out. I don't want to start two long series like that again until one is done or at least close to done. That's how I got my uncompleted series list so out of whack before. Tales of the Apt is also a ten book series that I'll eventually get to.

I have the first 5 books of Expanse Scott. (the main books I mean) And I'd like to jump into a buddy read for those. As it is my original TBR list for this year went down the drain because of all the new great series I found out about from this group. So I'll just toss it in a corner and read all these new series you guys are suggesting as long as I can get the books. (I meant new for me as I didn't even have a clue some of them existed! - and that's the greatest part about this group if you ask me: introduction to new awesome series.)

Are you going to do the half books? If not we could schedule one book of the main series per month and I'll squeeze the half books in between. If you are we could expand it out and give the half books their own month. Book 7 will be out in December and books 8 and 9 are expected in 2018 and 19.

I only have the main books of the series Scott, so I'd like to read those. The half books are all less than 100 pages each anyway as far as I can tell.
Right, which is why I have no issue fitting them in between reads. I'll do the setup later today. How do you feel about starting the 24th of the month starting in November, one book a month, so that we'll read the 7 published main books ending in May. Then 8 should be out later next year. We might even get Marget, Chris, Tammie and a few others for books 7 and 8.
Is the Eye of the World still slated to start 7/1/17? I have read this many years ago, but would like to reread in order to read the rest of the series as scheduled here.
Thanks.

So I might join in on book 2.
The Expanse is nice, easy-going sci-fi that actually seems to get better as it's going on. The .5 books are really short novellas that give insight into a particular character - they're short and completely skippable, but add some extra depth to the world. I'm almost up to date with the series and would rate them all as solid 4-star reads, so long as your expectations are for nothing too deep or complex.

Yep, WoT read is still set to start July 1st - I'm looking forward to it!

Sweet, the more the merrier.

TX for the intel on the half books. I've loved DA's fantasy series so I imagine this will be a similar writing style.

I'm fine with the set dates Scott. That way I will be able to get my hands on the rest of the books in the series also. I'll try to get even the smaller books and if I manage it I'll let you know so we can fit them in between at the same time.
I have The Abyss Beyond Dreams in my audio queue if anyone would like to join me sometimes soon? Any takers?
Laura and I are reading The Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch 1st July if anyone else would like to join us.

Ahdam do you want me to check with you in October to see if you want to read Empire in Black and Gold in November? That way you've read one of his work to see if you like his style. I just make a note in my buddy tracker to check with you closer to the time?

Please do I don't mind waiting awhile to start this series anyway

If you decide to go further then I'm in, would love to finish the series.

That's great wasn't sure, as I didn't see it.
Hope some are joining in.

I'm in!!!
Hey all. I am sort of a Fantasy novel newbie. That is to say, I haven't read a ton of these books (shame on me!) but I'd like to discuss the Sevenwaters series by Juliet Marillier if anyone is interested. A possible date to start: sometime in August or September?? Please let me know if there are any takers.

Thanks so much.

That's like nudging me with a truck :)
Is it bad that I read the blurb to that in John Lee's voice? Heh. Those are some doorstoppers.
Margret, have you read the other Commonwealth books? It looks like this one takes place after the Commonwealth Saga & The Void Trilogy.CW Saga: Pandora's Star
Void: The Dreaming Void
Oh, I do see that The Dreaming Void is on sale (USA at least) for $.99
I read Pandora's Star a looong time ago, but never read any more Hamilton. I'd be up for giving it a re-read if people are interested. I know I really enjoyed it when I did read it!
Ok yes then I would like to start with Pandora's star. I'm kind of crazy when it comes to reading order. So.... we have a little group? Yes no?

If we can read it in October or November I can join you.
