Yes please to a Murderbot reread!!

Okay thanks guys - May 1st then!
@ Gaea
Cool, Illuminations on Feb 1st. Looking forward to it!
@JL
The Expanse! Yes, I've been wanting to read it for ages, but was waiting for the series to finish. Then the timing just wasn't right. I was thinking about starting a series thread, and especially if it's just the two of us, we can take it at our own pace. Unless you'd prefer to schedule per book? If more leisurely, I could start mid-February, but if you'd prefer to binge through with a more dedicated 2-week-per-book schedule, then June would be better.
Also: I'm so obscenely excited for anyone discovering Murderbot. Definitely join us for that series.
@Nirkatze
I will spontaneously reread Murderbot anyway, so it's a safe bet that a Book Club in the northern-hemisphere autumn would not be misplaced. I think we did a reread of the series before Network Effect came out, but it's been a couple years.

I will totally haunt your Expanse thread. I remember loving the TV series so much I stopped watching to read the first book--then loved the book so much I watched the TV series two more times all the way through.... that was just when season 1 was out though. I love me some good sciency space opera with found family, noir police work, and big politics.
Ok friends! I see lots of enthusiastic BRs being planned 💃🏾
I am on it and will be making those threads soon 👍🏽
GO GO GO! You reading machines 😁

@everyone, I'd like to remind you all to use the form to get BRs added to the group:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FA...
BR threads should only be set up by mods in the group after they are requested using the form. Please refrain from setting up these threads on your own.
Thank you!

Okay, I'll put in Leviathan Wakes for June 15th, and we can figure out the rest of the series later.

We read the Faithful and the Fallen series this year and I would like to read the follow up series as well.
Is there any interest for mid-year???

June and earlier is starting to look a bit full for me but I could do July onwards. XD
@Siobhan--I'm not quite sure if anyone has floated a specific time or if it was just "when Vagabond folks (ie: slowpoke Nirkatze) gets caught up on St. Mary's"--and I am now caught up on St. Mary's!
I'm game to start Time Police anytime. Are we still thinking Book Club thread?
@Yanique--does the "request threads from Mods please and don't make them yourselves" thing go for Book Club style series threads too?

It does... we'd like to cut down on the use of Book Club / series threads, as people like Mel have pointed out how they make it easy to miss out on BRs, and feel intimidated by 25+ pages of old comments...
I love reading with the core groups I've made in those clubs/groups, but I can see how that could happen... Vagabond got lucky, making a new thread this year, and Nirkatze/Julian/Emily joining in early (and all being big readers like Choko/Soo/Iain/Brian)
On the topic of Time Police start day, I'm open to soon, as well... I assume Siobhan & Charlie want to start soon... Jodi Taylor has been their main BR author, of late... and we're all caught up on St. Mary's, as you said...

I can start whenever, might be slow over Christmas though because I only really listen to audiobooks when I'm driving to work haha.

I would be possibly interested, depending on when you guys start.

Set up a date that suits you and I can fit it in. I haven't any BR commitments yet. (I suggested mid-year as it looks like the year is already filling up for everyone )

Fine by me

I've put a request in for a thread for first week of Jan, as I wont have much time over Christmas. Hope that's ok. Only requested the first one for now as I don't know how fast people will want to read. Maybe it can be a series thread. :)

I've read the first Lightbringer Novel last month, and I'm reading Fool Moon this month. Curious if anyone's interested in starting the second Lightbringer novel in January, and The Third Dresden Files book in Feburary.

I think someone's reading Lightbringer 2 right now (Beena?)... or maybe it was #3...
As for Dresden Files, alot of us have been reading for over a year, and just did book 12, so not sure if there's anyone looking to start fresh...

And yeah, I know, a lot of you are going through Dresden. I realize that both are a longshot."
Looks like they're using the book 1 thread, Black Prism, instead of making new threads... and I was thinking of Monika mentioning it in this thread the other day... a bunch of others are reading as well... they started last week: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Made all the form requests for Laundry Files & New Management (the Laundry Files spinoff that's relevant to the unwritten finale, I think)... starting January 8th, monthly, with optional short stories 1.5, 2.5, 2.6, 3.5, and 7.5... (7.5 is the longest, and maybe most relevant short story)

Hiya EchoBaz! A couple of us are reading Lightbringer [here] and we're on book 2--Rob & I started about a week ago, and Choko & Monika said they'll be joining us soon--we've been talking about separating into different threads for books 3+ (or even 2+) but haven't moved on it yet.
We also don't have any sort of reading schedule set up... just rather touch and go at the moment... so maybe we could end up adopting your schedule... :)

Oh sweet! Thanks Mods for setting up all those requests! All these new links to add to my shiny new BR Tracker now.... *sigh*

I'm down for this trilogy for sure

Yeah, they're reading through the series, FAST! I love to read fast too, but I need a break between books.

Sorry, I shouldn't have asked about Dresden. I have a guilty conscience about not liking the series as much as I feel like I should. I tried reading the first 6 books, and ended up dropping like half of them.

I plan to read Needful Things and The Dark Half by Stephen King in October if anyone would like to join me.
In my teens, these were part of my introduction to King (after the movie Fire Starter). I remember loving both of them but have not reread them since.
I'm curious to know if they hold up to the legend in my mind - lol.
Me and Tammie plan to read The Last Stand of Mary Good Crow in the near future, if anyone else is interested... new weird western / alt-history / historical fantasy from Rachel Aaron (Heartstrikers, DFZ, Forever Fantasy Online, Legend of Eli Monpress)...
We're feeling a bit busy, the next few weeks, with all the currently scheduled Buddy Reads, but we'd like to get to it sometime after that...
The second book, The Battle of Medicine Rocks is coming out February 1st in ebook and I think paperback, but we'd like to wait for audio to read it... audio release hasn't been announced yet, but these things usually happen within 1-3 months of ebook release, if a narrator is lined up... Mary Good Crow came out last June 1st, and audio came out July 15th...

Hi Nyssa,
I might be up for Needful Things since I haven't read that one yet. I'll see how my schedule is closer to that time.😊

@JL Murderbot & The Expanse are AWESOME! If I hadn't just done a reread last year (I've reread like, 5 times...) I would join y'all.
Though, @Mel and @Everybody--I'd be down for a Murderbot reread before starting System Collapse. Those books are so short and go so quickly, and I've been wanting to try the audio too... anyone else interested in the latter part of the year leading up to Nov 30? Maybe Book Club thread, maybe 1/week for early novellas or 2/mo, unless there's a lot of interest?
