Buddy Read Invite (Retired)
I want to start Riley Jenson book 3 Tempting Evil in the next few days if anyone wants to join over in the Werewolves Gone Wild! thread.
Is there an Oathbringer read scheduled that I've overlooked? If not I'd like to schedule one. I want to read it throughout October to get ready for Rhythm of War. Any takers? :)
We'll be reading Oathbringer in the 2020 Cosmere BR Niki. Don't know the date yet as we still need to finish up reading Warbreaker and Edgedancer, but I'm guessing we'll do it in October :)
I'm in the middle of a Warbreaker reread (15%) in but then the new Abercrombie and Galbraith dropped on the same day and now I'm all torn. :)That said - Edgedancer/Oathbringer rereads in October (late October so we're fresh for RoW) sound good to me. I haven't seen anything official in the Cosmere subgroup yet for an Oathbringer start date yet.
So it's official. Anni and I are going to do a A Little Hatred reread starting tomorrow before jumping into The Trouble with Peace around October 3rd (though we'll jump into the established buddy-read thread that is currently ongoing for that). All are welcome to join us.
You have to realistic about these things I guess... Yeah it's not that much time to do a re-read but once you've got a task to do, it's better to do it than live with the fear of it. So let's face it :D

Tammie wrote: "Siobhan, I've been wanting to read that one. October 1st would be fine."Fab!! We haven't had a buddy read for a while Tammie! ☺️ I'll put the request in.
Hey guys! Is anyone interesting in buddy-reading Barrayar by Lois McMaster Bujold mid-October? I read Shards of Honor earlier this year and I finally decided to pick up the sequel.
well, I have just finished The Original but certainly up for it again coz I feel it needs a relisten to.
FantasyBookNerd wrote: "well, I have just finished The Original but certainly up for it again coz I feel it needs a relisten to."Excellent! I was thinking about starting next week sometime?
Will do! I'll probably start tomorrow night or Tuesday. Shall we just use the last minute BR thread?
Yes, that sounds good. I will probably start at the same time. I tend to listen when I am taking the dog out for a walk and as this happens regularly should be hoping to finish soon.
Charlie wrote: "Will do! I'll probably start tomorrow night or Tuesday. Shall we just use the last minute BR thread?"This is my first buddy read, Would you be able to point me in the right direction. Bit clueless lol

Anyone up for the last book of the Poppy War trilogy, The Burning God? Release date November 17 and I plan to read it right away.
I've been wanting to start The Vorrh for quite some time now. Is there anyone who would want to buddy read it with me? I've no idea when I want to start but I'm thinking late October/early November.
Silvana wrote: "Anyone up for the last book of the Poppy War trilogy, The Burning God? Release date November 17 and I plan to read it right away."I'd like to, but I haven't pre-ordered the book. Are you planning to buy the kindle version?

Hello! Is anyone interested in reading the "To kill a kingdom" by Alexandra Christo or "Sorcery or thorns" by Margaret Rogerson? I'm planning on starting either of the books on Thursday
Putting it on my list, but I'm trying not to start anymore series until next year. I want to focus on finishing ones I've started.
Hey! Would anyone be up for reading Gardens of the Moon, the first book of Steven Erikson's epic series Malazan Book of the Fallen? The series might be somewhat intimidating due to its length and complexity, so I think it would be great to discuss the chapters as we read. If we enjoy GOTM and the discussion, we can of course continue the series together. It is said to be one of the most immersive and rewarding fantasy series, so delving into it together should be great fun! :)Link to the buddy read topic I created:

Btw, Robert, I know there's another group who's reading Gardens of the Moon here : https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I think they're continuing with Deadhouse Gates in November?
Also, if you'd like to create a buddy read, please let the mods know so that they could create the thread for you. You can request the mods to create any BR thread here : https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Silvana wrote: "@Barry: Great, I'll ask for a thread tomorrow."Thanks!
In that case, I'm planning to read the first two books before the final book is released. Here's my tentative schedule
The Poppy War - 10 October?
The Dragon Republic - 1 November?
Anyone interested in joining me?

I already put my request for The Burning God, with specific request to create a folder for the series since the previous books would become BRs too. I wonder actually why the series has no specific folder until now :p
I'll join you for The Poppy War on the 10th! Very excited for this after reading an excellent and very deep short story by Kuang.

Which story was that?
Also, would anyone be interested in reading The Institute as a kind of Halloween read? Starting Monday 5th ish, but will take it slow if people want to join later.

The Nine Curves River, which I think is also contained in The Book of Dragons
Levar Burton reads it wonderfully here for free:

Would anyone be interested in reading Naomi Novik's A Deadly Education or T.J. Klune's The House in the Cerulean Sea?
