While living in Arizona, along the Verde River, in a 1951 trailer that I was refurbishing, I started doing some free-writing in the evenings after work. Six weeks later, I had the rough draft down for the first novel and had outlined two more. The early momentum was lost, but still happily plugging along with the story.
