4) I was a children's nurse for four years working on picu, hdu, bone marrow unit and orthopaedics. I had to give up nursing when I got diagnosed with autosomal dominant optic atrophy, an eyesight condition affecting the optic nerve. I have two Guide Dogs, a black Labrador called Ceris who has retired and a Golden Retriever called Roxy.

Over an 18-hour period I completed my Master's degree with a 6-hour comprehensive written exam, had my car break down on the way to having dinner with my parents in Newark, NJ, walked to their apartment the last couple of blocks, ate 90% of my dinner, got a call from my wife whose water had broken, ran back to the car (which started up, miraculously); for the next hour—all the way down to New Brunswick, NJ—coaxed the car into not breaking down again, got my wife to the hospital in time and was with her when our first child, a baby boy, was born.

2. I don't write in one genre. I've written and self-published a horror novel, though it also contains elements of dystopic science fiction. I also wrote a yet to be published lit fiction short novel. As far as reading, I like horror, dystopic sci-fi, lit fiction, fantasy, graphic novels.. I read a lot of non-fiction too. Would probably be easier to say what I don't read - romance, YA, mystery, Spy/Detective Thrillers.
3. I just self-published a horror novel called Odessa, Or Odessa, Or by Mark Swanson
4. What is an interesting thing about myself? I have a reoccurring dream in which I talk to my dead cat. Nothing profound. Just small talk, "how's it going" type stuff.

2) My problem is I can’t put a finger on any one writing style. I’ve spent years packing my shelves (both tangible and digital) with books I’ve yet to read. Sometimes the reading choice I make at a particular moment comes down to mood or need (usually reference material).
