SOLVED. YA Friends Part of a series with characters' names as titles [s]

I read a book about a group of friends who i think are on summer vacation (i think it is set in the US). I read the first book in the series between 2007 and 2012 (can't be more specific, sorry), and really want to finish the series. The main character changes between each book, and follows whoever's name is the title. in the first, the main character lives with her dad sibling (possibly sister) and young(?) step-mum. she finds out that the step-mum is pregnant through intercepting a phone-call from the doctor and the step-mum asks her to keep it a secret, although she eventually ends up telling her friend, who i think is quite quiet or nervous.

one point that i think i remember almost word for word is when the dad rings up. the main character answers and passes the phone to her step-mum, saying: "he wants to hear about his children, all of his children"

The first book is Dawn: Diary 1. One Goodreads review says: "After Dawn finds out that stepmother Carol is pregnant, she confides in Jill. Jill accidentally lets this slip in front of Carol, Carol is upset at Dawn for revealing the secret, and Dawn yells at Jill, effectively ending the friendship."
