I just finished chapter 8. I'm actually really enjoying the story. It's very easy and quick to read so I just can't seem to stop. Now my tablet ran out of battery so perhaps I'll have to continue tomorrow :)

Kaidance: (view spoiler)[ I absolutely love Kaidance as a character. It's sad what she has had to go through but she's found a way to survive in tough circumstances and even managed to built a reputation for herself that will keep her relatively safe in the institution she's in. But under that tough cover she's just afraid of people and what she might see if she touches them. I love her dressing style as well. She doesn't have plenty of clothes to choose from but she's managed to make it personal. Especially love the Lego necklace and what it represents. (hide spoiler)]

Setting: (view spoiler)[ I love all things mental health so I was thrilled to find out that the story takes place in an institution (at least in the beginning). I also think Kaidance's fate is quite realistic considering what would happen if somebody in real life started acting the way Kai is acting and foretelling other people's deaths. (hide spoiler)]

I'm not quite sure (view spoiler)[ whether Kai should trust Able and the others. They seem trustworthy enough now but I haven't completely given up on an idea that they are actually the bad guys and Puriel is on the good side. Anyway, I'm looking forward to hearing more about Kai's training and learning more about her powers and what makes her so special. I'm guessing it has something to do with the scarlet thread and what those hags did to her in the prologue :D (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[I can't believe how badly her parents have treated her. Luckily she had Jessie and Sarah. Now that she is out it will be interesting to see what happens. I'm not sure whether Able or Puriel is going to end up being the bad guy. (hide spoiler)]

I just finished this but it's such a pity it's only part 1 of the book. I'd certainly like to see how the story continues! I really enjoyed this first part.

I bet that (view spoiler)[ we're about to see a romance between Sitri and Kaidance. However, because Puriel just became a torch he's probably gonna put up some competition for Sitri. I knew there was some good in him! (hide spoiler)]

I like (view spoiler)[ Stephanie as a character but she's a bit terrifying at times :) I also like Mist even though she does not act very nicely towards anybody but her family. (hide spoiler)]

There's so many things I'd like to know more about! (view spoiler)[ I want to know more about Kaidance's power. What happens now when Puriel became a torch? Did they beat all the hunters and survive the attack? Will Matt live?( I think he will). Will Kaidance reconnect with her friends in the JDRI? I definitely want to read the next part! (view spoiler)[Unlike you I really hated Mist. I thought she was just downright evil. I hope in the next one we get to know how things are going for Sarah and Jessie. When it comes to Puriel I hope that he will be okay. He's clearly not as evil as we were led to believe. (hide spoiler)]
