LaurLa | 5101 comments Hi Stacie

Untethered by Marcia Lynn McClure - mostly sweet but still very good. I loved the heroine in this one.

Taming Eliza Jane (Gardiner, Texas Book 1) by Shannon Stacey - not so sweet and one of my favorites!

Corralled (Blacktop Cowboys, #1) by Lorelei James - definitely NOT sweet... I keep meaning to read this series but keep forgetting about it!

Hope you enjoy some of these!!!

It did for me to give you some!! I couldn't get any of the books you recommended from week 1 from the library so the Lorelai James one is on the way from Thriftbooks.

Stacie (thesebooksaremyfriends) Recommendations for LaurLa for Artist/Dancer/Musician romance

Very Wicked Things (Briarcrest Academy, #2) by Ilsa Madden-Mills by Ilsa Madden-Mills So this is number 2 in the series but I don't think you miss much if you skip #1. #1 was good, #2 and #3 were awesome (imo).

The Man I Love (The Fish Tales, #1) by Suanne Laqueur by Suanne Laqueur I kind of devoured this series. So so good.

The Genius and the Muse by Elizabeth Hunter by Elizabeth Hunter I flew through this one. I picked it up because I needed a green cover for a challenge and ended up really liking it.

Connie N. | 1321 comments Week 2 - Picks for Grace (Western romance)

1. The Devil Wears Spurs (Texas Kings, #1) by Soraya Lane
This trilogy is set in Texas and follows the romances of 3 brothers. I like the closeness of the brothers and their obvious love for each other and for the home they grew up in.

2. Texas Thunder (Rebel Moonshine, #1) by Kimberly Raye
Cute story, also set in Texas, and revolving around the lost recipe for moonshine that both main characters are searching for.

3. Against the Wind (The Raines of Wind Canyon, #1) by Kat Martin
Good start to a popular romance series, although I haven't read past this first book. Based in Wyoming.

4. Under Her Skin (Lone Star Sisters, #1) by Susan Mallery
I had to include this one, another Texas book, because I enjoyed this whole 4-book series very much. The main characters are 3 sisters and their best friend.

Grace | 1733 comments Hi Connie! Thanks for the picks. I'm not sure which one I'll go with yet. I'll have your picks up by tonight. I decided on What the Duke Desires for week 1 and really enjoyed. It was a cute story and it wasn't just your typical historical. Thanks for the push to read it!

Grace | 1733 comments Week 2 Picks for Connie

1. Flat-Out Sexy (Fast Track, #1) by Erin McCarthy
This is a NASCAR racing story with a single mom and a younger race car driver (it's really only 6 years which is not much).

2. Causing Havoc (SBC Fighters, #1) by Lori Foster
I haven't read this series yet, but I have read other books by Lori Foster and enjoyed them. Usually she writes light hearted and funny books.

3. Defying the Odds (Battered Hearts #1) by Kele Moon
An MMA fighter book. This series is one of my favorite series. It's more of a dramatic story and I cried reading all three of the books.

4. Free Agent (Boys of Fall) by Mari Carr
Mari Carr is another one of my favorite authors...she writes really sweet stories. This series is written with two other authors and I'm really enjoying it.

LaurLa | 5101 comments Recommedations for Stacie for Roadtrip Romance

Sonata for a Scoundrel (Music of the Heart, #1) by Anthea Lawson -- I know you aren't a big HF fan, but you might like this one.

Maybe This Time by Jennifer Crusie -- not a lot of travel, but there is some travel between the 'haunted' house and the city where the MCs live.

Got Your Number by Stephanie Bond -- I like this author a lot. This is less quirky than I expected and more RS so it took me a bit to switch expectations in my head. Once I did, I really enjoyed it.

I had to stop myself from grabbing rockstars-on-the-road books as recs for this because I'd be using up my musician recs for when (if) you roll for that!

Happy Reading!!

Thanks for recs! I requested The Genius and the Muse from that special place we both know ;-)

For last week I read One Hit Wonder instead of a rec because, well, it fit perfectly, I had to read it for another challenge and I had it. But I did add the Tessa Bailey to my TBR!

Connie N. | 1321 comments Week 3 - Picks for Grace (Sports Romance)

Slow and Steady Rush (Falcon Football, #1) by Laura Trentham - Based around small-town football set in Alabama (although the romance is about the coach, not YA or NA). Warm and friendly.

Bring on the Heat (The Boys of Summer, #1) by Katie Rose - So far I've enjoyed all of Rose's baseball romances. And get a load of that cover!

Touchback by Don Handfield - A Kindle freebie that turned out to be a winner. A bit of a mystical feel to it. All about revisiting past football triumphs.

Alex (Cold Fury Hockey, #1) by Sawyer Bennett - I haven't actually read this particular book, but I've read 2, 3, and 4 from this series and have enjoyed them. Light and enjoyable hockey romance series.

Grace | 1733 comments Connie's Picks for Week 3~Humorous

Love Is Blind by Lynsay Sands -This was one of the first romance books I read and it is just so sweet. It's the equivalent of looking at cute puppies and leaves you with an awww feeling inside

Lumberjack in Love by Penny Watson -This is an opposites attract story about a treehouse builder and big city girl. I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book.

Size 12 Is Not Fat (Heather Wells, #1) by Meg Cabot -Meg Cabot is one of my favorite authors. I absolutely love this series.

Law Man (Dream Man, #3) by Kristen Ashley -Kristen Ashley is really hit and miss for me. I either love the book or hate it, but this is my hands down favorite book I have read by her. It's the third in the series, but reading order doesn't really matter and I have to admit I hated the first two books in the series. But this one is funny in one moment and heartbreaking in another. It really is a great intro to Kristen Ashley.

Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress, #1) by Jeaniene Frost -This is a perfect balance of romance and action and one of my hands down favorite series. Cat and Bones are one of my favorite couples I ever read about.

message 97: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 5101 comments For you dearest Stacie! I love sport romances... so this was the easiest set yet to pick. We have similar tastes but you are a much harder rater than I am, so I hope you enjoy one of these ;-P

Delayed Penalty (Crossing the Line, #1) by Shey Stahl
Hockey: Delayed Penalty - Shey Stahl -- there has been some question about plagerism surrounding this book. I don't know if it's true. I haven't purchased any other books since I read about it but I already had this one and needed it for a challenge awhile back so I read it. It IS a good story just don't know if it's hers. In case that bothers you, I included another Hockey choice :-)

Body Check (New York Blades, #1) by Deirdre Martin
Hockey: Body Check - Deirdre Martin -- this series is getting a little dated now but I know I enjoyed it when I first came across it 5 or 6 years ago.

Jockeys and Jewels (Racetrack Romance, #3) by Bev Pettersen
Horse Racing: Jockeys and Jewels -- a different take on sports romance. This is also romantic suspense. I just recently read it and especially enjoyed the detail around the sport.

Hot Stuff (Hot Zone, #1) by Carly Phillips
Baseball: Hot Stuff -- another getting to be dated series. I enjoyed it. It is somewhat category romance...but I like Carly Phillips so enjoyed it for what it was.
