Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments My least favorite of the entire 13 book series. I've reread this series a couple of times in its entirety but I've always skipped this book. Saving Nick was not a priority for me at all. It didn't help that Trent wasn't in the book either.

I absolutely loved Jenks in this story. Making him big helped me understand just how fierce and formidable he is because I took him for granted. His scenes were the best of the book.

Did anyone else find Rachel's drooling over Jenks creepy? Also, she seems to drool over quite a few in this story (hello, Marshal!), which doesn't speak so well of her relationship with Kisten.

The audiobook was 16 hours long with about 8 hours of serious storytelling. I couldn't wait for it to end. The beginning was great, the scenes on the island when Ivy shifted to a Were and the scenes on the bridge were exciting. There was just too much filler around them.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments One thing I will say about Rachel, she never fails to notice and appreciate a well put together male, lol.

I agree that big Jenks was the best part of this book.

Completely agree!

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments It is the weakest so far. I really missed Trent and not having any progress or development in that area.

As Jonetta says, the writing in this one was too drawn out with excessive descriptions of inconsequential settings, characters and objects.

The action scenes were good but to few and far between amongst the boring sections.

I also loved Jenks (but then I always do) and the insights we get into his strengths and abilities really go a long way to appreciating him more.
