I have only read 7 books from the Top 100 list so far. From the list I am currently reading "The Boxcar Children".
A lot of the books from the list I read so long ago that I don't even remember what they are about. So I am going with 29/100. Currently, I am reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman (from the list).

57, plus
-.-.-.-
I didn't read Sir Richard Burton's "The Arabian Nights" but I did read Mardrus/Mathers' "Book of the Thousand Nights and One Night"; I didn't read "Calvin and Hobbes" but I read "The Essential Calvin and Hobbes," which included all the strips from "Calvin and Hobbes." I know I've read some of Aesop's fables, but I don't know that I ever read an actual book of them.
I don't necessarily want to read all of the remaining books on the list, but I do have seventeen marked as "Want To Read."

It's great that you have read over half of the list. I'm going to save reading the scary and creepy ones until the end. I'm not sure if I will get through reading all of them.

That's a very good number of the Top 100 books to have read.

Hi Terris. I am also planning to read those two books sooner than others on the Top 100 list.

I love reading children's books, and I've really loved lots of recent books that aren't on this list yet.

I have several more on my list too, Connie!
I happened to look back at my original answer. It was May, 2016 and I said I had read 40. I just counted and I have now read 55! I'm surprised that I picked up 15 in the last two years! But like I said, I really enjoy children's books and want to read several more on this list. Happy Reading to you -- there are so many good ones! :)
I just checked mine too. In June 2016 I had read only 7 books on the Top 100 list. I've now read 23 books from the list. I've still got lots to go. :)

Well, you're moving right along! I know this group has not been active for awhile, but it really spurred me on to read and enjoy these children's books!

Happy Reading to You, too!
I find the children's books often fly by and are a great break after serious/long books. :-)

Welcome Connie! Glad to have you here! 47 is a great number - which ones were your favorites??

Both of you, Terris and Julie, have made great progress! I am glad that you find that this group has kept you moving with children's books :) I too have made some progress over the past 2 years (woah that's a LONG time!). I was at 29, and now I am at 42. I have a while to go until I'm finished as well - but my goal isn't to finish, just to enjoy all the best children's books :)!!

I won't finish the list in the future as there are some scary sounding books that I don't want to read.

Some of them were my favorites when I read them as a child, like The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, The Secret Garden, A Little Princess, and Little House on the Prairie. Others I loved as a teenager and a young adult: The Little Prince, The Book of Three, The Hobbit, Anne of Green Gables, and Watership Down. I loved Matilda and Harry Potter when I read them to my daughter. More recently, I've loved Where the Red Fern Grows and Brown Girl Dreaming. :-)

Ooohh yes lots of these are my favorites too!! Where the Red Fern Grows is sooo good. I read it a long time ago, but I still remember just how sad it was!

It surprises me that I read most of these books as an adult -- what was I reading as a child, and where was the librarian or teacher who should have guided me to Children's Classics?!!
Oh well, I'm glad that I'm reading them now, because I'm enjoying them just as much!! :)

Wow! You've also really added to your list! I'm proud of us all that we've slowly but steadily kept reading these :)

I think some of them are better (more interesting, more appropriate) to read as adults!

Yes, it's great to see that we've all read a good number of the books from the list since we've been in this group.

I know that I missed out on reading most of the books on the list because when I was a child I was too busy reading horse and animal stories. :)
