Brief history:
Adsila's story isn't a happy one. Though she doesn't like to feel sorry for herself, instead she likes to use her life and her past to give her strength and motivation. Her Native American heritage meant she was always picked on by other students, bullied for who she was by ignorant people. Her mother committed suicide by drowning herself when Adsila was only twelve, her mother wasn't well. But they couldn't afford therapy or any help.
Adsila has two younger siblings: a boy who is now 14 and an adopted sister who is 5.

Brief history:
Emmi's mother was a criminal who gave birth to her daughter in a jail cell. This daughter, Emmi, was then thrust into the foster care system and was lucky enough to find a nice foster family to care for her until she was about seven, at which point the family lost all the kids in their care because they were caught in a scam. After that, she went to live a new foster family which quickly fell apart and left her with only the foster father who was an abusive alcoholic. Once this information came into light she was bounced to another family, and then another, and so one until she turned 18. She now lives in a sort of half-way house until she finishes high school.
She has no siblings that she knows of and wouldn't try to know them even if she did. She thinks family is a myth basically and tend to keep to herself.

Marcus heard a bark from close, and immediately he knew that it was Busty moving around on his bed. He opened his eyes to see a huge German Shepard towered over him and looking at him in an excited manner.
"Hey boy", Marcus laughed, stroking his dog playfully for a while until he got up to get ready for school.
Spring break had just finished, and man had it been awesome. He had really enjoyed Spring Break and he knew he would never forget it.
In an instant Marcus had his black jeans on with a grey t-shirt and some converse.
"Have a good day", His mom smiled, winking at him. His twin younger brothers just waved at the same time and his dad just smiled. He appreciated and loved them so much, he didn't really know what he would do without them.
Before he knew it he was at his school, and excitement and laughter filled the school. People seeing each other, friends catching up with what happened during Sprint Break. Marcus simply sat on the mount of the grass near the school steps, needing to just relax for a moment before he walked into the hell hole.
----
Adsila wanted so desperately to stay in her bed, it called out to her like a devilish creature who promised to grant you every wish. Unfortunately she couldn't stay and care to her bed, she had to get out.
She quickly took a shower, brushed her teeth and got dressed. Today she felt like she would wear something nice; she wore a long black skirt that had a slit up the side and fitted her curves, she paired that with a black crop top, a cropped jean jacket and some black boots.
It was if in an instant she had been transported to school, she didn't need to drive to school as she only lived a few minutes away from the place.
She sat by a tree and watched in a somewhat disgusted and shocked face at how people seemed to be so excited to come back. What was wrong with people?
Spring break had just finished, surely they should be upset or sad or something to come back.
But the big clicks like the jocks always loved to come back, high school was their kingdom.

After working a three hour shift Emmi was on her way to school. She did her makeup in the parking lot and then put on one of her usual outfit, tight jeans with holes in the knees and a large gray sweater. She left her uniform in her beat up old car then headed toward the school building she could never quite decide if she liked.
She liked to learn but she didn't love the atmosphere of high school, and more than that she hated having to come here from work. It was bad enough to work on spring break when there was nothing else of importance to do, but it was worse when she had school things to worry about and so little sleep to go on.
Luckily, she saw a familiar face and was forced to stop thinking about this. She walked up beside Adsila ad sighed. "Here we go again..." she said.
~~~
Jay plopped himself onto the grass next to Marcus and looked at the school before them. "Are we going to be skipping class already," he asked teasingly. He had never skipped class in his life. He couldn't afford to get into trouble or else he could lose his place on the football team. He had pretty much a perfect school record and perfect grades just so that he could play. In fact, he should have been with his team right now, seeing how their breaks had gone and what not...but he didn't so much love the team as he loved the game.
So he stayed with his real friend. "Really though, how was your spring break? I didn't get a chance to ask you while I was away in Florida. Promise it wasn't because I was having too much fun though. Hospital duty with great grandma. So much for spring break in Florida," he sighed.
"It was good; the occasional party here there, a few girls", Marcus gave a cheeky smile and a little laugh. But he had a great spring break, he just didn't feel like rubbing it in Jays face or anything.
"How's your grandma?", he asked. He felt bad for the kid, not being able to fully experience spring break, but what could be do? It's not like it was his option for his grandma to be ill. Marcus hit his friends knee in a comforting manner and said," Man don't worry, summer is going to be amazing, I can feel it".
The weather was starting to get more and more sunnier, the atmosphere was just ready for summer and there were more and more parties being planned.
Marcus stood up," Come on, we should probably get inside before the bell rings".
---
Adsila was already at school when half the student body was arriving, people were still in spring break mode. Adsila was near her locker, preparing for her first class of the this semester; chemistry.
"Ugh, why so early in the morning? Really? Chemistry?", she groaned, putting her head in her locker briefly. Suddenly she heard a familiar voice: Emmi.
She peeped out and chuckled slightly, "Indeed", she sighed.
Adsila suddenly looked to Emmi, she could see that she was slightly drained already and she looked away briefly, because she wanted so badly for Emmi to take things easy and rest.
"You were working weren't you?", Adsila stated softly, she disagreed with what Emmi was going, but Emmi always told her that she had no choice, there was no other option, she had to work. "What if I find you a reasonably houred job, Emmi? I can try and see what job would fit your schedule and stuff", she said in a comforting a manner. "Waking up this early is unfair to you. I don't know how you to it", Adsila stated, shaking her head and seeing how strong her friend was.
He stood up along with his friend then shoved his hands in his pockets. "And I certainly am ready for summer. Maybe I'll finally be the one who gets the couple of girls," he laughed and elbowed Marcus lightly in the ribs.
He was never really the type to get all the girls despite his football star status. He spent too much time on his studies and not enough time on his girl skills. Not to mention that football and studying took up quite a lot of his time, as did the other sports he played in the off season. He needed to spend more time getting to know people that weren't Marcus or team mates.
~~~
Emmi rolled her eyes when Adsila started up her usual worrying. This girl knew more about her than almost anyone in the world, but she wouldn't never truly understand. Emmi didn't tell her everything, after all.
"I can handle the job I have now, Adsila. Really, you don't have to worry so much about me. You're too young to try and be a mother," she told the other girl with a soft sigh.
"I'm really fine. Ok? I have a job and it's a pretty good job, so that's all that matters. I need the money more than I need a perfect eight hours of sleep. Now, lets just get this day over with," she said with a decisive nod.

Marcus laughed at Jays girl comment and grinned," Man, for your sake I hope so too, because there are a lot of girls who have crushes on you that are just begging for your attention". He raised his eyebrows and gave a wicked smile, walking toward the school entrance with Jay and seeing a few girls who looked at them.
"See, they like you", Marcus grinned, nudging his friend slightly and pointing his chin towards them. Of course when Jay looked over they all gave a little laugh. Jay really didn't know how popular he was with the girls. They didn't go to talk to them though, they just headed for their lockers that were side by side.
----
Adsila gave a sigh as she knew she was being motherly and coddling Emmi. But she couldn't help it. It was so unfair that she had to grow up before her time, that she had to act like an adult when she was only just a teenager. Things were unfair for her. How could she handle so much?
But if Emmi said she was fine, she was fine. Adsila would be there to support her and encourage her.
"Okay, I'm sorry. I just worry sometimes, Em", Adsila admitted, looking up from picking at her bag and seeing Em look at her. "I'll be more encouraging and supportive", Adsila admitted, giving a small smile and kind of admitting she was wrong in a way too.
"Now, let's get to class before we end up getting there late and risk Mr Warrick wrath", Adsila laughed, raising her eyebrows.

"Don't be silly," he said as they walked by the group of girls gawking, "They're looking at you and laughing at me. I'm like an awkward giant who happens to be good at sports and school. I'll be lucky to have a single girlfriend before we graduate. I don't have time or skill for that."
He shook his head and sighed, "Girls are confusing. Lets just get to class where I understand what in hell is going on." He laughed lightly.
~~~
Emmi was glad for the change in subject. She hated dwelling on her life because it reminded her that she had so little time to get herself together. School though, school was ok for now because it meant that she did have some time left.
"Mr. Warrick's wrath wouldn't be so bad if he was like 20 years younger, because then it would be kind of hot," she winked playfully and hip checked her friend. "I've seen his early teaching yearbooks and he was a real fox. Being so angry has not done him too well."
She laughed and headed into the classroom to take her seat, in the back as usual. She was ok with Adsila, but she didn't really like to talk to anyone else. Most people thought that she was the crazy daughter of a murderer or something, and she didn't mind. The fewer people she dealt with on a regular basis, the better.
