I have to admit the parts with Tariq and Isra are kind of boring to me, but I power through anyway. I don't want to miss any interesting/vital information!

He is annoying and beyond selfish and blind that he can't see that the woman that he loves is happy and in love with someone else. He doesn't even listen to her! He honestly ruined this book for me. I enjoyed it a lot but I am so annoyed by this ending that I don't even know if I want to read the second book. I really just want to scream into a pillow I am so frustrated. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[Ok, I very strongly disliked that ending. Like I have no words for it. Khalid is just.... ugh. I love him as a character, and I totally ship him and Sharazad. But why is it anytime he gets close to someone he pushes them away?
And yes, I strongly dislike Tariq, too... but I can understand his pain. He wasn't there to see Sahrazad change and he is so lost in his love for her to realize she doesn't love him. I'm not supporting him or anything, and he should really step up. And I am not shipping him with Sharazad (Shalid for life) but I do think he's so confused, not knowing the new person she is. Hopefully in the next book we'll see some character development in him. Maybe he needs a new girlfriend...
But in the next book, I do hope Sharazad, Khalid, and Tariq can be happy. Hopefully Tariq finally realizes he's not the best for her. (hide spoiler)]
