SOLVED. Sci-fi short story--cuttlefish-like aliens & actors. [s]

I'm looking for the name of a short story, or the book it's in, in which a troupe of actors, Shakespearean I think, goes to an alien planet and slips into alien bodies (like avatars) to live and perform there. The aliens are something like cuttlefish, comminicating with color and movement. I used to read a lot of Heinlein and Asimov, possibly it's by one of them?
