Somebody pleeeeze help with this one, I've been looking for it for ages. Sci-fi novel a bit like cyberpunk in which everyone is "jacked in" to a virtual network. The main protagonist is kind of a dissident, and is disconnected from the central info net, which is very traumatic. He is completely isolated as a result. Two other distinguishing (and unforgettable) features of the book: a young man who makes a living by receiving an anal probe to test his "gut reactions" (haha) to commercials; and a young female heiress who is decapitated in an assassination attempt but her head is saved and she is re-grown from the head in a tank (cool, but ew). Anybody know it? Please let me know! Thanks and have a great day :)

Yes, it was really good! That's why I want to track it down again. Since then, I've made a habit of recording all the books I read on an Excel file. Good movies, as well, so I can remember them to tell others about them. My memory these days--not so good, lol
