Will 3-D printing kill the suspense and thrill in fiction writing?

Authors thrive on readers not knowing what's going to happen next.. to expect the unexpected. But the 3-D printer may actually 'kill' and take away a large percentage of what readers often expect from a novel. In what way can an author compromise this new invention without removing the unexpected for the readers?
