Up-to-date on Jane Yellowrock with Shadow Rites. 7/25

Not as good as Dark Heir but still rated it 5 stars. Since Trea picked for me, and it's her practice to read all the novellas when she reads a series, I went back and read the final three novellas I'd missed when my library didn't have them.

So I'm now waiting on the release of Blood of the Earth Faith Hunter's latest series.

Actually, I enjoyed them. Hunter said she wrote them in response to reader questions.

I've heard the fourth book in the series just doesn't hold up the first three, the author who picks up after Larssen's death just doesnt quite do it justice. So I'm going to consider this series complete!

It's the second time in two years I didn't manage to finish two books in the assigned series. :( Might be that the Amber series is becoming more and more repetitive as it shifted from Corwin to Merlin and his story.

I actually managed to read one of my books this month - I would've had both and finished the series but someone beat me to them at the library.
Paw and Order★★★★ - these books aren't groundbreaking or perfect, but man I love them. I think Chet is such a perfect, flawed, amazing narrator and he always makes me laugh. Plus, he's basically my dog in print. One more to go and I'm done the series.
