Why I wrote "Danny Chalmers is THE PRINCPAL"

My son, 9, absolutely loves to read. But he will only read "funny". We ran out of books after Diary of a Whimpy Kid, Junie B Jones, and Captain Underpants. So I decided to write him a story for Christmas, and so The Danny Chalmers Series was born. He (and his class at a later reading) laughed and totally enjoyed the story :)

good for you! and this will be something he will always cherish and so will his children and theirs and now you are a part of history forever. I wrote both of my books for the same reason..they are from my heart to my family and will be here long after I am gone. I'm not a writer, I am a story teller, and all of the short stories in my books are from my family. I never thought of it that way, Joyce. That is wonderful to know that perhaps my great-great-grandchildren will read my book and know their "grannie" wrote it :)

sounds like a good plan to me! check out my books on Publish America and I'm also on Google. It explains why I finally started the story telling. Just Google
"Joyce Finch Brown" and it will take you to the story about Southern Comfort. The 3rd book is now in my head and starting to get entered into the computer. It's called Simply Southern Comfort and it is how the simple things in family can mean so much. I was blessed with 9 aunts and uncles on my daddy's side of the family and there are 33 of us grandkids with me being 4th from the oldest so there have always been lots of wonderful stories to share. That is what I have in the books plus what my wonderful 3 yr old granddaughter adds to the stories. Last Sat. was Princess DAy because a friend of the family gave her the Cinderella outfit complete with crown and magic wand. She explained to all of us that we have mother's day, father's day and now she has Princess Day! hard to argue with that logic...ha.

she is one of the funniest little girls! I enjoyed raising my 2 boys but honestly she is a "mess"!
One of the stories in the newest book is about her and Santa Claus. Her mother was "mean to her" and it forced Savannah to call Santa to report her mother! This was a couple of months AFTER Christmas but she remembered her mother threatening to call Santa and report when she was bad so she just turned the tables.
She has her on cell phone and she knows to push the buttons and she made the call in front of her mother to make sure she knew that she was being reported.
See what I mean about having plenty of stories to share without having to write one word of fiction?
No new toys for her mother!!!

and the best part is she warned them before she made the calls! by the end of the week she had reported her mother, her daddy and her other grandmother to Santa, She said "don't make me make the call" and when they still didn't let her have what she wanted she was "forced" to call him. She never forgets a thing!
