I am looking for a current series about a man who is a forester and his wife is a librarian. It is set in the present day and the main characters are old enough to have grown children. I saw a mention of it online but now I can't find the reference and Google is giving me Finding Forrester and librarian retirement notices.

It's set in the western US. Maybe Colorado or Montana. The author's name is listed as X. Y. Surname. I don't think it was chick lit - I had the impression that it might be something both my parents might enjoy together on their long distance trips.
