I'm the opposite. My father taught me to drink unsweetened tea when I was a child, and now I don't like it any other way.

WinterRose | 843 comments That's how I am with milk. My mom got me on skim when I was little and I won't drink 2%.

Same here, WinterRose! Internet high five?

NICE!!!!

message 59: by [deleted user] (new)

What're you talking about? The moon is in the night, the dark, and naturally, it is made of milk.

Maryanne | 246 comments Elvina wrote: "What're you talking about? The moon is in the night, the dark, and naturally, it is made of milk."

Are you saying that to me???? Sorry I just didn't understand who's question you were answering to.

message 61: by Abigayle (new)

Abigayle | 148 comments Hey some people think the moon's made from cheese, I don't see why it can't have lakes of milk ;)

message 62: by [deleted user] (new)

So it wasn't out of place or interjecting rudely or anything?

That sounds like a great way to end my day ;)

Natalia, this is going to be a strange question but... do you, by any chance, remember if I finished my S&B, S&S re-read that I did a couple of weekd before the official re-read started. For some reason, I can't remember. Oh my poor brain ;P

message 67: by Natalia (last edited May 08, 2014 10:19PM) (new)

Natalia (natalia_g) | 574 comments @ Cari: No, I don't remember you saying anything about it. I just knew you were rereading them.
Lol, Cari, don't you use bookmarks? And that's why I like the GR updates option. To track my own progress, as well as my friends', and discuss.

Im rereading S&S now and I'm going slow this time.

message 68: by Cari (new)

Cari Thanks, Natalia. I need a better system. You are right. Also I need a cover for my Kindle. The last one got hit by something and, while it wasn't broken, the screen stopped working.

I'm looking online to get one but I'm kid of baffled by how many of these covers are out there ;P

message 69: by [deleted user] (last edited May 09, 2014 02:39AM) (new)

Ack, that's not good. Kindle's are expensive.

Yeah, I know that there are a lot. Choose one that best suits your personality.

And it will be getting MUCH bigger. I will be buying a lot of copies of Ruin and Rising as well, hih :) I'm a book hoarder. And I love it. (Though I don't have much space left. SOBS.)

You have a lot of merchandise! That's quite the collection! That's awesome! Do you have a favorite item in your collection?

Hih, thank you :D Ohh. That is a hard one. I am not sure. Probably the Stag Locket. <3 (Mal quote. LOVE!) But also that gorgeous red postcard on my wall. MAL quote again, lol :D

Sofs (recklessndreamer) Thats the only collection you have? I like the jewelry *sigh* i want.

Oh, no, I have TONS of collections. But this is most of the jewelry that I have :)

message 76: by Carina (new)

Carina Olsen (carinabooks) | 672 comments Also, this topic is REFUSING to send me emails or notifications. Hmph. I have signed up for both. None is happening. Agh. So if you reply to me, it might take some time before I see it :)

message 77: by Sofs (new)

Sofs (recklessndreamer) I never get notifications from this group and I checked the "email me" option. Goodreads says they have a problem with my email but I get emails about other stuff on goodreads.

message 78: by Veela (new)

Veela | 191 comments Weird, I checked my e-mail this morning, and it was flooded with notifications for this topic...

message 79: by Carina (new)

Carina Olsen (carinabooks) | 672 comments It is weird. As I get emails from other topics. Hm. But most weird is that I don't get the notifications here on goodreads either. Which is just mean, lol.

message 80: by Maddi (new)

Maddi | 57 comments I missed some interesting conversations in the Darkling forum so I am going to ramble on about them here.

I also read the Throne of Glass series, but my ships are all confused! Chaol, Dorian, Sam, I am undecided. :(

For the Splintered series, I hate Jeb and I totally ship Morpheus. Alyssa annoys the crap out of me because she has this gorgeous mysterious boy saying he will make a life with her in WONDERLAND and show her a world she could never have dreamed of and she's like:

"Waaahh, I wanna stay in the human world. I don't wanna accept my destiny. I choose a boring life and a boring boyfriend."

FORGET HER MORPHEUS LET ME LOVE YOU

Let me hug you :)))) Do you think Morpheus + Alyssa ship will sail in Ensnared?

I never understand heroines who cling to their humanity when there is a whole new supernatural world waiting for them. Especially since these heroines were not entirely human to begin with.

message 82: by Veela (new)

Veela | 191 comments @Natalia do you think Alyssa spending her life with Jeb, and then leaving to Wonderland right before she would die to have a life with Morpheus is even a possibility at this point?

message 83: by Natalia (new)

Natalia (natalia_g) | 574 comments @ Veela: I haven't finished Unhinged yet, so I don't know. I'm at 40 % now.

message 84: by Veela (new)

Veela | 191 comments Oh okay. Please don't throw the book too hard when you finish.

message 85: by Natalia (new)

Natalia (natalia_g) | 574 comments No, I won't, lol. I didn't throw it at the end of S&S either, because it is an e-reader and I can't afford throwing it around every time something pisses me off. I trust one of my GR friends who says the next book in the Splintered series has the promise of epicness and amazing, and she can't stand Jeb. So I read on.

message 86: by Veela (new)

Veela | 191 comments I wish Ensnared would come out sooner, I think it's planed publication is January 2015.

I honestly can't talk about Jeb without raging. Like he's probably in my top 5 most hated YA characters. I actually thought it had to be the author's intention to make the reader hate him.

I need to read Crown of Midnight still. I'm sort of meh on the multiple POV thing though. I wish it was all in Celaena's (spelling?) especially since they're apparently all at the same place. I hate multiple POV unless characters are going on their own storylines/journeys like in Game of Thrones. I think it works there.

message 88: by Natalia (last edited May 09, 2014 11:51AM) (new)

Natalia (natalia_g) | 574 comments OMG, I just can't! My neighbors from the upper apartment have been listening to some blaring music and dancing on my head for a couple of hours now. They started from patriotic songs and now moved on to rap, lol. I'm probably in for another sleepless night. Everyone celebrates Victory Day in Russia today, so there is no reasoning with them. Haha, do you see the irony, seeing as the Darkling vs. Hitler topic came up rather often for the past couple of days. I have to endure and hope they will get tired soon. Slim chance, though. Ugh!

message 89: by [deleted user] (new)

I mostly read it, but really I just skimmed it. I didn't feel like properly reading it after, but I'll reread both books before book 3. I'm not sure if I actually ship any of the boys with Celaena. I sort of shipped Sam/Celaena, but then I decided I didn't after all. And then I loved Chaol/Celaena, but then STUFF HAPPENED and I don't even know.

Oh? I like entwined story-lines with some, but not much, overlap. Otherwise, it's not really beneficial to the story. But if they are having adventures that connect and sometimes influence the other, then I am fine.

Has anyone read the Pellinor Series by Alison Croggan?

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

Eek. Rap = Bleck in my experience. It sounds like people with anger management issues to me. Yeah, it is ironic. Is there anywhere you can go to escape?

Oh, and I will probably have three more drawings up before the end of today. One Genya/David, one Tamar, and one Darklina.

message 91: by Natalia (new)

Natalia (natalia_g) | 574 comments Elvina, looks like you've been struck by inspiration, keep it up))
And no, can't escape since it is 23:00. Hopefully they will tire soon.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

I will. I need to get them onto my computer and edit them, and then I'll post them.

Oh. Nowehere's open? Hopefully. Loud neighbors are ever fun. Also, dogs. They are not good pets for townhouses.

WinterRose | 843 comments I totally can't do military time. Takes me too long to figure it out.

Telling time in Spanish was also a challenge for me for some reason. I just took my Spanish final today--got a 97% woo woo!

Edit: Oh, I get it now. My brain is sluggish again))

Congrats on your Spanish!

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

I randomly have my laptop and email clocks set to a 24 hour clock. I don't know why.

Congrats! I got my score back for the National Latin Exam yesterday. . . .

message 97: by [deleted user] (new)

For us, we have a twelve hour clock, but the military clock is twenty-four hours.

message 98: by WinterRose (new)

WinterRose | 843 comments Thanks guys! :)

We go on 12 hours too and consider 24 hour military.

message 99: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm in America. 24 hours makes more sense though.

message 100: by WinterRose (new)

WinterRose | 843 comments Me too. :) America that is. But I think the 24 hour clock is super confusing. After 12 I like starting back up at 1, lol.
