if only this book was as good as its cover was pretty. *sigh*
We could "Re-get bonus" on #16. I think we've used 1/3 of our "free" bonuses (we really need another word for something -- everything can't be a bonus!). *shrug* I'll check the TA books but we already know there's nothing for 16D or 16E (unless more new books were added).

1. Free book - Lets you insert a "free book" into any spot in a bonus challenge
2. Re-get Bonus - Lets you remove one of your current bonuses and get a new one
3. Add a Bonus - Temporarily lets you add one bonus to your list
4. Title Twist - Rearrange the words in a title to fit into a title chain
5. Ignore an Article - Allows you to ignore A, An, or The in a title when linking it to a chain
6. Ignore the Caveat - Lets you ignore the requirement for the first book in a title chain
7. Rearrange Page Numbers - Allows you to rearrange the page numbers of one book"
ETA: Could've sworn I refreshed... Great minds think alike? :) Last time I checked, there was nothing that chained on the TA bookshelf, fyi. I know we can do 16A and probably 16B from TA.

It wasn't terrible, I just got kind of bored for some reason. *shrug*

Bold goals are unclaimed goals.
TWO - 40 points:
2A ◈ Read a book with a Purple cover - Lory
2C ◈ Read a book with a centaur - Bethany
NINE - 60 points:
9B ◈ Read a book with a color in the title - Raven - finished but not on spreadsheet
9C ◈ Read a book with food on the cover - Caly
9E ◈ Read a book with a strong female lead - Raven
FIFTEEN - 60 points: (we need these bolded goals)
15D ◈ Read a book where the series and title combined contain all letters in Pemberley
15E ◈ Read a book with a title (Mr., Ms, Lord, etc.) in the title
SIXTEEN - 60 points: (we need these bolded goals)
16C ◈ Read a book with a musical instrument on the cover
16D ◈ Read a book where the series and title combined contain all letters in Pemberley - Lory
16E ◈ Read a book with a title (Mr., Ms, Lord, etc.) in the title
SEVENTEEN - 65 points: (we need these bolded goals)
17B ◈ Read a book with Ghost(s) in the title
17D ◈ Read a book with Iron in the title - Bethany (also 16E)
17E ◈ Read a book with Lead in the title - Ray
Ideas:16a = Cider House Rules (Tobey McGuire is on the cover, haha)
16b = The Bad Beginning (all the Baudelaire kids are headstrong)
16c = The Muse; it has a typewriter on the cover and I know of 2 different musicians who use typewriters as instruments. I could dig up some audio (maybe video) links....
Ray, I'm going to have to say no to the typewriter - instrument vs. things that can be used as instruments. Any two year old can use pots and pans as instruments but we wouldn't take those either ;)
Worth a try! ;)Kazen wrote: "Ray, I'm going to have to say no to the typewriter"
It's slotted into #15. :/ I didn't find any other instruments.
Bethany wrote: "Play Your Heart Out from the TA DEFINITELY has a guitar on it."

Oh. Nevermind. Just didn't notice because it didn't say it was used on the spreadsheet.

I hate it when that happens. It least it wasn't 5 million pages.
BONUS LABOR 17
Somehow you've managed to anger Artemis...I mean how were you supposed to know that bow belonged to someone am I right? She'll call off the hunt if you complete the following, very specific, some might say nearly impossible, tasks.
◈ Read a book with Wolf in the title
◈ Read a book with Ghost(s) in the title
◈ Read a book with Me in the title
◈ Read a book with Iron in the title
◈ Read a book with Lead in the title
Points: 65

No TA books for any of these. At least they were easy to searchI'd like to take 17e -- I need to read The City of Gold and Lead for the Novel RPG. :)

I think I'll either claim the instrument one or the wolf one... going to read the first few pages of each and see what I'm more into.
I'm still working in my purple cover book! Didn't forget, just crazy busy this weekend. I travel this week which means, lots of reading time :-).
Has anyone claimed 16b? I'm almost done with a reread of
and there are plenty of headstrong characters in there.
Completion post
Pages: 456
Read for: 16b, headstrong character
Reason: Even when everyone around him said he couldn't do it because he was just a kid, the protagonist assembled a crew and robbed the safest prison in the world.
Read for: 17c, me in title

My first 1 star book. Oh well, it wasn't terrible just depressing I thought. Of course like any "good" book it at least made me want to finish it to find out what the heck was going on LOL
so that was okay, now on to the next. 8-)

I'm putting in these first two suggestions - thanks for your help with TA books! It's nice to find them when we can :)

Pragya wrote: "Has anyone claimed 16b? I'm almost done with a reread of

Oh no, one star books stink! At least you got a task out of it? ;) Here's hoping your next read is better.
Lory wrote: "I'm still working in my purple cover book! Didn't forget, just crazy busy this weekend. I travel this week which means, lots of reading time :-)."No worries - enjoy that traveling and reading as much as you can! :)
Okay, 5 of the date-less books on the TA shelf have had dates added... but not the one we want for Pemberley. :( It's still on the TA 'currently reading' shelf so.. maybe.. the it'll be finished soon and we can use it? Not sure how the TA shelf works exactly.Updated my TA spreadsheet with the books and current holds.
Ray (user2637) wrote: "[The Amber Spyglass (His Dark Materials #3 is] on the "olympics" shelf, but the date read isn't filled it. If you can get a mod to fill it in, I'm sure it'll count. :)

If wanted, I could read
It seems really interesting and fun. I love retellings of Jane Austen, so I could do that book as well this week. Let me know and I can get it from the library tonight!
I am 30% through my purple book, which is a collection of short stories. 3 down 7 to go!
The Pemberley tasks are still bold, so anyone can claim! If you're not feeling the purple book, just fyi, there are at least 2 TA purple books we could swap in. :)

Sweet, then I will claim the Pemberley book 15D. I will get started on that right away!I will keep trudging through the purple book. But once Bethany finishes the centaur book, I will see how far I got. That way we can close the bonus as soon as possible. (Hope that makes sense)!
How many bonuses do we have left?
Lory wrote: "Sweet, then I will claim the Pemberley book 15D. I will get started on that right away!I will keep trudging through the purple book. But once Bethany finishes the centaur book, I will see how far..."
I'm roughly 20 pages from the end of centaurs, so it won't be long. ;)
Not sure what you mean by this... "bonus" gets used a lot, haha. We have 5 bonus labors we can have open at any time. I'm not sure, but I don't think there's an upper limit on total bonus labors -- they'll just keep generating until the event is over. TA books allowed we have 66 left but 5 of those are on hold for tasks above.
For the "bonus" that mods posted a couple pages back, I think we have used "Add a bonus" twice?? If I'm remembering right, then we have 2 of those bonuses left plus 5 omni-sack/whatever bonuses we earned previously. Kazen can verify. :)
Lory wrote: "How many bonuses do we have left?"
Sounds like a great plan! :) I'm going to wander off now, so I've marked the purple TA books in the notes column on the TA spreadsheet. No sense making someone search for them again. :)Lory wrote: "I will keep trudging through the purple book. But once Bethany finishes the centaur book, I will see how far I got. Gotcha, I wasn't sure if we had a set number of bonuses. If Bethany is almost done, I would recommend using the TA book for purple. It will take me at least a few days to read it and I'm not loving it. This way we can open up another bonus!

Bonus 2C - Centaurs nurse main character back to health after injuries.
I have very mixed feelings about this book. There were parts I loved, parts I hated, and parts I was bored by. I rated it 4 stars, but finishing it, I'm not sure how to feel, and that rating might change after it sinks in a bit.
Lory wrote: "Lol, Bethany. That's pretty much exactly how I felt when I read that book. It's very odd."There was so much whiplash! Like, some of it was like a less happy Harry Potter book, some of it felt like Catcher in the Rye, and for obvious reasons some of it felt like The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe.
So weird...
Bethany wrote: "I'm going to read The Iron Duke, which has both Iron and a title, so can I claim one of those?"Scratch this... Tried to start the book. Not my cup of tea.
Back to the drawing board... Not sure I've got ANYTHING satisfying the current spots though...
