I feel like I'm getting to know these characters after typing their names into the spreadsheet three times! ;)
Tammie wrote: "Finished:
The Seduction of His Wife...13 potential letters!"
Nice work! I made a special note of those gold letters on the spreadsheet, those may come in handy. :)
Bethany wrote: "Is it bad if my big motivator for reading a lot is that I want to catch up to Lory and Ray's page counts? :)"Healthy competition is fine by me! Hehe. But no pressure, never pressure. :)

Interesting! It would be a borderline case that I would bring with the mods, but seeing as how we have so many pink books I'm not worried. :)
(as of last edit ↑↑)
Current word: NBRCBOM
Possible books for each letter (remembering that some overlap):
N - 9
B - 16 (need 2)
R - 15
C - 18
O - 13
M - 21
Color Bonus 1: Silver in title
Possible: 0
Color Bonus 2: Silver in text
Possible: 5
Most needed: Silver in title (remember, it must have a spell out letter we can use!)
Also could use: books with N in the spell out

I didn't include him because I had the letters already but he had a HUGE role-- constantly talked about by numerous people, personally and professionally. What would the verdict be on that? Just for curiosity's sake. "This is also a very interesting case! I would probably bring it back to the mods for a ruling, to be honest. And seeing as how they're so busy and we already have the letters I'd rather not bother them. :/ Shall we consider it a tantalizing conundrum for the moment? That is, until the next dead person with a big role shows up in our books ;)
Sounds good to me. I probably think about dead people more than the average bear anyway. I <3 forensics! And serial killers, lol. :D
Ray (user2637) wrote: "Bethany wrote: "I'd say to remember you joined up later than us but then I remembered you brought books, so instead I say "neener neener, can't catch me! :P"This cracked me up :D I would say "nanny nanny boo boo"... maybe a regional thing? ;)
...a search on wikipedia later...
Apparently nanny nanny boo boo is said in the Southern US, but I'm from the Northeast... what's up with that. :P
Kazen wrote: "Apparently nanny nanny boo boo is said in the Southern US, but I'm from the Northeast... what's up with that. :P"You're just a weirdo I guess! ;) ;) ;) :D
ETA: I've never heard nanny nanny boo boo.
Bethany wrote: "and generally I won't be told to put them away at any point during the flight. :)"They changed this recently - you can use devices like kindles even while taxing and landing now! They just can't be connected to the internet. :)

*shrug* I've only encountered 2 dead humans outside of hospitals -that's a small sample size, and one was when I was 5. The second had most of the skin peeled off and muscles/tendons/etc exposed. It was AMAZING! :) I do plan to visit the Body Farm some day.
im using my cell so its difficult to navigate through links....silver in title means d word silver as part of the title? or the title should be written in silver colour??

This is the way of things, grasshopper. Video proof. :P
Ella wrote: "im using my cell so its difficult to navigate through links....silver in title means d word silver as part of the title? or the title should be written in silver colour??"The word silver as part of the title. This is what we need most! :)
Naked Sun: "Squares in white and yellow (silver and gold, really, from the metallic luster) were placed in what seemed an aimless pattern.”When Did You See Her Last?: “I thought of the silver mask, and the face of the Bombinating Beast.”
None in Mabel Jones.
awww! the kid is adorable!! though i heard that fr the first time.. here in india we go with the simple 'na nana na na, u cant catch me'
Ray - related but not related - there are several corpse flowers getting ready to bloom, and all with live cams! For those who don't know, the corpse flower saves up energy for years and years before blooming spectacularly for less than 48 hours. Name is because they stink to high heaven. :PNew York Botanical Garden

We have a new word, huzzah! Or a new abbrevation I guess, because NBRCBOM stands for Nothing But Reading Challenges Book of (the) Month.
The hardest task by far are books with silver in the title. Once we have those the letters should fall into place easily - latest info at the top of this page.
Go forth and read, Red Pandas! :)
I'll read The Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick, I've been thinking of doing it for a while now, and the color task is the perfect motivation.I also had The Golden Compass, but I'm gonna read it only if we get golden. The kindle sample wasn't too interesting:/
Pragya - I loved The Golden Compass when I was a kid but I'm really afraid to reread it, in case it doesn't have the same awesomeness I remember. But whatever you do, don't watch the movie! ~shudders~eta: And totally burying the lead - yeaaaaaa silver in the title books! :D
Hello from the Plumed Basilisks!I see the word corpse flower so thought I'd check in. We had one in Adelaide earlier this year....here is the time lapse video. Cool hey!
I didn't go see it because 40C heat and a stinky flower...hmm didn't sound like a nice mix
Ashley wrote: "I didn't go see it because 40C heat and a stinky flower...hmm didn't sound like a nice mix "Hi and thanks for the great video! Yeah, I think watching from a web cam at home is the perfect distance in that kind of heat. Ick.
(For the Americans - 40C is 104F!)

Haha, I hate when people screw up book to movie adaptations.

Karin wrote: "After my current read, I can read The Silver Suitcase if we still have that requirement to fill"That sounds great! We can do this word several times, and if we have books with silver in the title we can get a color bonus each time. :)
Yay for a new word!! I have 3 books that have Silver in the title, so can read those for us.Corpse Flower ~shudders ~ I have a phobia of plants (weird, I know) so anything freaky to do with plants gives me the creeps... I did try to grow a venus flytrap to get over my fear, but that didn't go so well.. Needless to say, I can't read "The Day of the Triffids" ...

Apparently most of the characters are various versions of “Joe”, so I’m not going to list the several characters that start with ‘J’.
