Ashley | 1439 comments Nikk wrote: "I would like to read Forever with You for B9 - shelved as a romance by 242 people - however happy to work on a miss task yet since I have currently worked on all hit tasks"

We get more points if we work on the hits and getting the bonus points so happy for it to continue :)

Thanks Ange...mostly just copy and paste haha

This can work for B9, E5, H8, and I4.

Viji | 389 comments I will be taking:
E-5 - read a book shelved as romance by at least 10 people
E-10 - read a book shelved as humor by at least 10 people

message 407: by Ange (new)

Ange (bentleyrise) | 484 comments Im going to read The Infinite Sea which will work for
F5 (although the audio is co author - one male one female not sure if you need 100% female?)
B9, E5, G2, G5, I4

message 408: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1439 comments Karishma wrote: "Ok so my next two books will fit in the romance, fantasy, UK and rating ones. So I will take whichever is left"

How much do you read? If I pop the books into UK and ratings then you would have the option to read 'extra' fantasy and romance as bonus books.

We might pick when you're finished as there are so many options (F5 won't work).

message 413: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments Hi - me again - just checking in to let you know I haven't disappeared - I'm still reading (listening to) The Cartel - I'm at about 60% with just over 10 hours left to go.

My version is the audiobook - but the most popular edition is Hardcover at 616 pages - so it'll be worth some points! :)

The average rating is 4.27 (In case you'd rather use it for that (I-4)goal?)

I know the "The" goal is lots easier to fill.

Hope you are all well!

Loved loved loved it!!! It was a really unexpected take on the classic story of a girl whisked away to fairyland with a lot of heart and humour.

message 417: by Elspeth (new)

Elspeth | 101 comments Just edited to add that The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making can also count for task E-10 after digging and finding that 20 people had shelved it as humor.

Just FYI that for the genre tasks, 10 people is not a lot. 10 people may have shelved a book in a genre you weren't expecting so it pays to check!

Nikk, I meant to ask this last night, but what did you think of the previous book in the series? (I think it was called Fall With You)

Rebecca (rebeccaemma) | 85 comments Sorry for the delay!! I guess J10

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I enjoyed it though maybe not so much as the rest of the series but what I most like about this whole series is that they are quick reads and even when the focus is on two newer obviously peripheral characters you still get to see the characters you have already grown to love or at least like :-P I think the first book is still my fave.

message 424: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccaemma) | 85 comments Is anyone reading for A9 - A book that starts with "An"?

I can take that one on with An Education: My Life Might Have Turned Out Differently if I Had Just Said No Only 199 pages, so should be a quick read.

I've got 150 pages left for The 5th Wave so should hopefully finish that tonight for task A5 - read the first book in a series.

As I've mentioned, I'm now about 40% through American Sniper: The Autobiography of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History so if we can fit that in somewhere as more tasks come up, that would be awesome.

Also, I have to start reading I Came to Say Goodbye for my real-life book club which is on Friday night which would fit H8.

Phew! Reading wayyyyy more than usual!

I'm having an absolute ball with this though... this is seriously so much fun!!

A9 is yours now

How's the 5th wave so far? Another book I've owned forever and haven't read haha....ahhhhh

I'm sure that we will fit American Sniper in somewhere!! I can think of lots of potentials for it...we just haven't had one yet.

Ooh a real life book club! Jealous!!! Sounds fun

I generally agree, but I was particularly disappointed by it. It's probably the only JLA book I've ever read that I didn't love/really enjoy.

message 428: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1439 comments I've used it for the hit romance - so we can start getting those bonus points :)

message 429: by Ange (new)

Ange (bentleyrise) | 484 comments Hey I was checking out the spreadsheet and see that it says we have sunk two subs but wouldnt the F5, G5 be a minesweeper?

message 430: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1439 comments No it's a sub. The other one is part of a separate ship - ships can be next to each other ( we thought they couldn't)

message 431: by Ange (new)

Can I please give my guesses to the group to sort out? I'll be happy with whatever you pick.

Cheers.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I am just about to read First Grave on the Right This will work for any of the romance, fantasy or humour shelf hit tasks, as well as the ratings miss task but its also a book 1 so it will also complete the miss task for A5 which currently seems to have only book completed.

Long story short it will fit for a lot of tasks so feel free to pop it for whatever task you need :-)

message 439: by Elspeth (new)

Elspeth | 101 comments OK, so I've started Jurassic Park for my irl book club which can fit tasks D-3, A-5, C-9, or G-2/G-5.

Has anyone else read this? I'm liking it so far but the science is a bit iffy :)

actually hit a small snag with this book as I can't pick it up till tomorrow night so I probably won't finish it till Friday/Saturday at the latest.

In the mean time, plan to read Cruel Crown and maybe Wild Things

I am also starting Sharp Objects today as the BOM but that won't be finished till late next week in the last few days of battleship so I will see what is available for it to fill then :-)

We'll pick later for this one as well...probably D3 though. No I haven't read it! I didn't like the movie so was never really interested :/

They look like they will work for lots! I'll make a larger note later but just want to point out that we can't carry any books over into the next Olympic challenge (this may be different for other challenges)

I should be done with them all before Olympic games start as I am pretty sure the last day of BOM is prior to Olympic games starting. I can always try and finish it a little earlier if need be :-)

Ashley | 1439 comments Ashley wrote: "No it's a sub. The other one is part of a separate ship - ships can be next to each other ( we thought they couldn't)"

Okay Ange...this has changed again haha. Our spreadsheet has been altered and one of the subs has changed to a minesweeper. So ships will only touch diagonally not vertically or horizontally
