Wandering about nearby woods you find Sir Zee sitting on the fallen tree and looking up. You sit by her and try to find what's keeping her so transfixed. You see tiny dots high, high above in the sky. "Don't you think it would be great if we could fly?" Sir Zee says. You look at her strangely, but make no comment. "Just think. You are up there. Wind is blowing in your feathers. You can see so far away and you are free to go where you want." You look again at those dots in the sky, not really thrilled with Zee's idea. You really prefer standing on firm ground. "Oh, and do you know what would be even better?!" Zee looks at you, eyes shining with excitement. "Just when you reach that perfect speed and perfect height, you stop. No flapping your wings or anything. Just let gravity do it's business. Oh it would be such great rush!" You smile at Sir Zee patronizingly and hoping she doesn't notice you turned little green at her great idea.

You figure you don't have time to go home and change, but luckily that last kill didn't mess with your shiny armor. You just polished it last night since you've been invited to the dinner at Sir Audrey Jane's. You are really looking forward to that dinner since she just got back from Hobb'ton and everyone knows that Hobb'ts like fine cuisine and always have plenty of food and love parties. You reach Sir Audrey Jane's place and see her standing in front of her door, grocery bags on the ground around her, and she is searching her bags like crazy. "What happened?" "Oh, it's you. Is it time already? You won't believe what happened. At last moment I remembered I forgot to purchase something for dinner and went to the market just to figure out I forgot my key. Again! We can't get into the house!"

Those are your new tasks. Or at least stories for them. You can see what you actually need in spreadsheet.In your case cards 1,2 & 4 are monsters, and 3 & 5 are reading tasks. :)
The book I'm reading right now can fit Card 3 (spaceship) and Card 5 (door). It's also first in a series.Thanks, Tea!
This is Mr. Green, our plumed basilisk hero. He may not look much but there's more to him than meets the eye! And come on, who else can walk on water like he does?
There are a lot of 'people' going after Mr Green's territory. He needs to defend himself against this incoming onslaught. We have to help him! We need to make him stronger (level up our hero) and his weapon better (level up the weapon).

How are experiences gained?
We complete tasks enclosed in each quest card.
What are quest cards?
Every week, we are given 5 cards, a mix of quest cards and monster cards.
◈ Quest cards have list of tasks that can be completed for experience and/or items.
◈ Monster cards have monsters that can be fought for experience and/or items.
Basically, this is the premise ;)
Details can be read in the rules section of Emerge.

It's warm and sunny out in Novel Kingdom and you'd like nothing more than to go hiking in the woods and enjoy a nice picnic complete with Drop Bear Burgers and Lemonade. You've just gotten into the forest when the mosquitoes attack! Little bites all over your body feeling like you've descended to the 7th level of Hell, Violence. You frantically try to cover up but they've grown superior and beat back your every attempt at salvation. You're only hope now is to squash every last one of them in your trusty Ye Old Flysquatter.
