BONUS LABOR 21

King Eurystheus accidentally tipped over his puzzle and it scattered everywhere. Of course he's blaming you. Help him piece it back together or you'll never hear the end of it.
Send a screenshot of the completed puzzle to the mod account.

Katharine | 92 comments Finished The Inheritance (Inspector Trave, #1) by Simon Tolkien and The Lucifer Gospel (Finn Ryan, #2) by Paul Christopher , if we can use either for anything. Waiting in the airport since 3am has allowed me to finish A Taste for Monsters by Matthew J. Kirby and with another hour and a half to wait, I should be able to finish Country Of The Blind (Jack Parlabane, #2) by Christopher Brookmyre . Could we use The Inheritance in place of Michelangelo's Notebook (Finn Ryan, #1) by Paul Christopher and use Michelangelo for an orange cover?

message 3161: by Katharine (last edited Sep 30, 2016 02:54AM) (new)

Katharine | 92 comments I will also read Flight of the Fire Thief (Fire Thief Trilogy, #2) by Terry Deary for Greek mythology. Could we use Pieces of Me by Lena Kovadlo for our white cover? I can also read Swift Justice (A Charlie Swift Mystery #1) by Laura DiSilverio for our pink cover.

We have already used Michelangelo for a different task. Once books are entered and passed in the official spreadsheet, we cannot move them anymore.

Ooops I haven't updated my reads in Honduras. *hides*

It might be too hard, because we have fewer books per week than a lot of the other teams and it's very confusing.
I'm not bored, but I would like the bonuses to have more variety and the relays seem a bit overdone.
Still love WOBBLE :)

I agree completely with Noa's opinion on this.

I suppose the only thing I'd add is that something might be done sooner to even the playing field. The teams at the top of the list have double the points we earned and we worked hard!

I tried to keep up and not let the team down, reading twice as many books as I normally would have. (I'm now 17 books ahead of schedule in my GR challenge - when WOBBLE started, I was 3 behind.)

I just don't know how we could have done more. Adding additional members to our team earlier on would have made a big difference from my perspective. It's a bit discouraging to work so hard and be so continually in the bottom of the pack. If the point spread were closer, this would not have bothered me so much - but it's miles apart.

The challenge was never boring, sometimes hard, usually confusing...

Our captains have been particularly amazing at keeping things clear and organised and explaining some of the more convoluted rules. We all have lives outside of GR and captaining a group is a huge undertaking. Thanks heaps Captains! You're awesome.

One more query from me - does anything happen with the homeless books?

We also have three new boons to use from this list:

2. Re-get Bonus - Lets you remove one of your current bonuses and get a new one
3. Add a Bonus - Temporarily lets you add one bonus to your list
4. Title Twist - Rearrange the words in a title to fit into a title chain
5. Ignore an Article - Allows you to ignore A, An, or The in a title when linking it to a chain
6. Ignore the Caveat - Lets you ignore the requirement for the first book in a title chain
7. Rearrange Page Numbers - Allows you to rearrange the page numbers of one book

Thanks Ashley. I keep forgetting about that because it seems WOBBLE is ending. Will there be challenges in the last event? Or is it just a final wrap up of what's left?

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments @Ashley: I read in the captain's thread it's okay to load it in advance to help teams plan their reads this week. Wait lemme look for it and link you up.

@Katharine: No problem! This is the 5th event in a 6-event challenge. And every event differs. And we still have a hard time keeping up at times too. The planning sheet is here so you can see what tasks are open when none of the captains are online to update

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Because Ashley is a text wizard :) she has actually found all the texts for BONUS 25 in our unused books, except for two peas in a pod... or have you found it yet Ash? :D

Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments Is Bonus 19 back on the table?

If so I am reading two "Horror" books now.

message 3198: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1439 comments Depends if people have books that fit: Put the bull into a headlock- Read a book with “head” in the title or covers where characters are wrestling

message 3199: by Kimberly (last edited Sep 30, 2016 05:31PM) (new)

Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments Does this count as "wrestling"? ;-)

If so, I have a few that will work...

Come Away with Me (With Me in Seattle, #1) by Kristen Proby

Or if "head" can be in the word"redhead" - I'd be happy to read the next couple of books in the redhead series:

The Redhead Revealed
The Redhead Plays Her Hand

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Kimberly, I laughed out loud at that. Wrestling huh? I'll defer to Ash on that one.

If that bonus set is revived, I guess I can read Head Over Heels by Jill Shalvis. It would make for a nice break with The Way of Shadows which is a depressing read.

I found 3 more Head Over Heels books, funny how it's such a common title.
Head Over Heels by Jill Mansell
Head Over Heels by Susan Andersen
Head Over Heels by Sara Downing
