Book,Author: Sorcerer to the Crown
Finished: 19 July
Task: Event 5, Animal
And I ended up liking it. It had a real slow start but finally kicked off. Not saying it was smooth sailing, there were a few pages I held off a yawn now and then but pretty much overall a good read.

Finished: 20 July
Pages:394
Task: Arm on cover ?
Now reading Yesterday's Gone: Episode 1 for 116 pages

Thanks Nikk :)

Date: 20/07/16
Pages: 175
Fits: Event 2
I ended up loving it. Some books make you think about the past or the present, reflecting on your life and history. And, of course, some books don't make you think of much at all. But this one made me think of the future and identity. It was nice, and thank you for the rec. I want to read more of Sanderson's work.

Currently Reading: Prince of Fools and No Apologies. Near the end of both. I'm somewhat putting off finishing Prince of Fools because I enjoy Mark Lawrence so much.

You're a model player Gillian so don't fret!
It's good that they are sending out email to refresh everyone on the challenge :)

:) Feel free to send any other recs my way in the future

And it's surprisingly good! Didn't expect to like it that much. I'm very picky what comes to this type of romance books and usually they are plotless but this one is actually great.
Saw the Mods e-mail. Not sure what to think of it. Should I resign? Because it looks like I don't meet the requirements for books read estimate. That's sad, but due to my current workload I probably won't be up to speed with the goal I set at the beginning of the year.

We have you down for 12 books a month - how many do you think you'll read?

I also got the letter, Gillian.

The only people "behind" their reading estimates is Skandia (joined late so all good as sheet doesn't take this into account) and Angeline.
Ange - I know mods can only send a certain amount of messages so not to be spamming. The message (in bold) is;
Hey wobbly wobblers!
As you all know, WOBBLE is one of a kind. We issued warnings at the beginning, and we also are working very hard to keep the game fun and fair and competitive as requested.
That being said, there are a few things that need to be addressed.
1) This is ONLY a game. And it is supposed to be FUN.
2) This is a TEAM challenge. If you're not a team player, then this is not the game for you.
3)We have a one book a week minimum rule. However, if you signed up for 12 books a month we're expecting you to read around that number, not a book a week. If for some reason you can't do it, please let your team captains know as soon as possible so we can adjust your new number.
4) Fair play and assumptions. This is a game of TRUST. There is no way to validate if you're really reading or not, we trust that you are. So, if we ask a member if he/she is reading all those books and the answer is yes, we're going to trust that is true, not accuse said member of cheating.
5) Chain of communication. As said before, communication must be: members - captains - mods. That means, if a member has something to say to a captain of another team about her/his players, it is not okay to tell her/him directly. Please address your mentor first and let her take care of the issue.
6) Checking in. If you signed up for a chatty team, you need to check in once a day. Please remember that this is a team game and your captains need to know that they can count on you.
7) Questions (for captains). Before asking a question, please check the FAQs and captains lounge threads to see if it was asked before. The mods will be grateful
8) Again, this is supposed to be FUN. Situations like accusations of cheating, stealing ideas, and some more serious stuff that need mod intervention are not fun. Or very team like. Yes, a little competition is always fun, but please remember, this is just a game. There is nothing more involved than some reading motivation.
Thank You,
The mods of NBRC
Feel free to bring it up in this thread if anyone has questions or comments about the points that the mods have made :)
Leading on from the mods message I haven't been checking in as much lately. Unfortunately my dad passed away last week so I've been feeling a little drained leading up to the funeral which was today. I haven't been reading as much lately either. I'll be back here more now so you might all get a little sick of me ;)

Don't worry about reading and take care of yourself and your family.
I'd like to revise my books per month account to 8 books. If I read more, it's good, right? I'm sure about min 8 books per month, though.

This is, after all, a game. A bit of fun. Maybe a distraction if you need it.
Take your time. We'll be here when you need us.
Peace to you and yours.
xx

342 pages.
For page jumping goal.
I appreciate where the Mods are coming from. This challenge relies on people to be ethical - which is hard given so many of us are basically anonymous.
Our team has been wonderfully supportive of each other. Apparently, we're very lucky. :)
I hope I'm checking in enough for you all. I'm doing my best.
I advised before - but I'll remind again that 12 books/month is not realistic for me. 6-8 would be.
Once I start studying, I'll have even less time but will still do no less than 1 per week.

So, I know I'm reading three books atm that I need to get finished, but I was a bad person and I reread the Captive Prince trilogy. I own them in paperback and it was so easy to take them when I was doing laundry (there's always so many people, and there's lines, and it takes hours). Anyways, it's been 6 months since my last reading, but what are the rules? Do I just add them to my WOBBLE shelf?

My estimated books read are 1-2 a week depending on the size of the book. I had a burst at the beginning of the challenge but am back down to reading just a little more than I normally do.

I don't know if I'll be able to finish it before the end of Olympics. I'll try but I think it might be impossible. Sorry. :(

We can't start reading towards the bonus rounds until ALL tasks for ALL events have been completed...this has not happened yet. Now before you all start wringing my imaginary neck I would like to remind you of the following;
1. We love reading
2. These books will be used towards Wheelathon so will not be "wasted"
3. I need my neck in tact to read and contribute :)
So sorry again :(
Ps. Thank you for all your kind messages :)

From yesterday (Date: 20/07/16)
Read: Captive Prince (240 pgs), Captive Prince: Volume Two (216 pgs), and Kings Rising (385 pgs) by C.S. Pacat
I added them to my WOBBLE shelf. Tell me if there's anything else I can do.
Since we have to get the event reads done first, tell me anything I can read and I'll push back my other reads for Wheelathon.
P.S. Do chariot decos not count as well?

...Just give me some time to message the mods and finish the sheet. I'll let you know when bonus' are open

Haha great minds Noa ;)

Thanks Ashley for keeping track!
I, too, will be reading a bit less come August til October maybe. Will be a bit busy so won't be reading as much but will still be clocking in the number of books I signed up with.
@Noa: I recommend Mistborn as your next Sanderson read. Or Warbreaker :)

Haha great minds Noa ;)"
Exactly :P

I think I'll start off Wheelathon with Mistborn.

Okay so when Ange finishes her book for Event 5 and it's been entered the bonus events will be opened.
Until then the books we are reading will count for Wheelathon which starts very soon!

I have started The Emperor's Soul. I'm over a quarter through and liking it. I do hope the story picks up though.
