~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments Read: Alpha Trine by Lexi Alexander
Date: 11/07/16
Pages: 156
Fits: 151-200 pages, Event 2
I'll finish The Knife of Never Letting Go tomorrow. It fits in 401-500 pages, Event 3.
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Noa I realized too, shouldve chosen a book with bigger fonts coz we're going by page count not word count. What book did you read for the sprint?
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments I'm willing to read NA for coach books as long as it's 150 pages and less. Coach books are 10 pts each!
And books to decorate the chariot is 15 pt/each.
~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments Yep, two of the Ranger's Apprentice books would have been perfect.

The Knife of Never Letting Go. I like it.

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Yeah. I read about 8 pages from Ranger's before the time ended and realized I should've used the series. Karishma said she's busy this week and of she's unavailable for the 6, I'll do it. I'll find a large print edition hahaha! A large print Nora Roberts novel.

Good for you! I'm hit and miss with MG books.

This could be used if it suits any of the tasks.

I tend to enjoy them, but only because I read very, very few.

Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments I'm at work so I only have a minute.

Just checked the team spreadsheet.

Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny is showing as 11 pages (because I listened to the audio).

The most popular edition is hardcover - 352 pages.

It is to be used for the full arm goal.

Down the Rabbit Hole Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny by Holly Madison

I'm currently listening to The Nightingale (the most popular edition is hardcover - 440 pages. I previously said it has 480 - I don't believe that is an issue but let me know.

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I started The Kiss of Deception (The Remnant Chronicles, #1) by Mary E. Pearson last night for a buddy read . I am on chapter 2 and already I am bored. :-(

Thinking of starting The Dead House by Dawn Kurtagich as its on my july dusty bookshelf challenge list. It has fire on the front for the chariot :-)

Will also read some more of The Ruins of Gorlan (Ranger's Apprentice, #1) by John Flanagan today :-)

Dresden Files is my first series in the Urban/Epic Fantasy genre. I started it with lot of trepidation but found that I could enjoy them. This series definitely removed my mental block towards the genre.

~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments I want to read In Allegiance and American Love Songs for another challenge, but I don't see something American Love Songs fits for. Is there anywhere I could put it? In Allegiance fits in 201-250 pages, Event 2.
I'm at 60% of Water for Elephants, so I'll be done soon. I'll try to quicken, since it looks like Event 1 will be completed in a bit.
Kat, you posted a message about the wheel for Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe before and that you needed to check first? Did you hear back? If it's okay to read, I can start it now.
message 1524: by Gillian (new)
Gillian Murrell | 497 comments I can read Unraveling 464 pages for Event 2
Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut  (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments I think the wheels for Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz should be fine. they would definitely work on a chariot :-)
message 1526: by ~~~N~~~ (new)
~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments Read: Water for Elephants Sara Gruen
Date: 12/7/16
Pages: 335
Fits: Event 1

Can I just say that the ending I imagined was horribly depressing, and when the ending really wasn't horrible at all, I was shocked? It's a good book.

Started Aristotle and Dante :3

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments You planning on watching the movie?

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments The cover for American love songs? Is the background a flare light or soemthing? Lol let's think up something maybe we can use it to decorate the chariot?

~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments Currently Reading: No Apologies and Aristotle & Dante
Planning to read:
In Allegiance - 201-250 pages, Event 2
Fire Touched - Decoration for Chariot (feathers for awesomeness, spears for spiky sides, or lava for I-have-no-idea-but-it-would-look-cool)
Takedown - Coach book
They're stage lights. Maybe we could put headlights on our chariot? We can blind our enemies as we run them down.
message 1534: by Ange (new)
Ange (bentleyrise) | 484 comments Great work on the 6 hour marathon let be honest that isnt a sprint!
Just had a look at the spreadsheet (part of my morning ritual) we havent got all that many books to go before starting bonuses
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Noa, our chariot will totally look daunting. Lava as floors, spikes on sides with flaming thorns on borders? Hunger Games feels not enough yet? ;)
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments @Nikk:
Kiss of Deception was overhyped. For me, the plot twist didnt come surprising at all.
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Good morning Ange!
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Thank you Viji! I hope you're having a hoot too (with the challenge and all) ;) Have an enjoyable reading day ahead! Hope you get well soon.
Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments I'm snowed in today so I'm working from home - which means I can sneak on here a little bit. :)
I'm really enjoying The Nightingale. It's my first book by Kristin Hannah.
Had I known it was about Nazi Germany, I might have stayed away from it - but so far, it's not too gruesome.
When I saw Life is Beautiful, I cried for days and days. I still cannot shake some of that awful imagery. I vowed to stay away from holocaust fiction.
Ashley | 1439 comments I've finished A Thousand Nights for Event 2 and I didn't like it :(
Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut  (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Apologies my reading has slowed down a little in the last few days. I am starting a second blog for more adult reads ( even though I am not really updating my current more YA oriented blog enough and got distracted buying a new template for it last night and making it pretty so not a lot of reading going on at the moment.
I will try and get some books finished in the next couple of days
message 1544: by Ashley (new)
Ashley | 1439 comments Thanks for shelving Karishma - I've entered it into the sheet :)
I own Landline but I haven't read it yet. I always buy books I think I'll love...but then I never read them because I prioritise the library books!! So annoying. Almost wish someone would chop my card up.
I've dropped a few books in the bath/pool/spa/anything else possible. I'm a pro at getting them all dry and perfect looking again now ;)
This convo was a while ago, but were we talking about Angelfall? If yes (if no, ignore me and my memory), then I did like it. i thought it was unique compared to a lot of YA Dystopians (especially anything with angels). What happened with the kids didn't really bother me, but if it did you, DEFINITELY don't read book 2. It doesn't necessarily get worse, but it doesn't get better. I didn't really connect to the characters, but like I said, I liked it anyways. I'd like to read book 3 at some point.
Agh, that makes sense. I'm an only child and I've always found that there are some things that don't bother me because of that.
Its exhausting at the moment i will be relived when i have it all under control as I'm working 16+ hours a day right now. But on a good note i can now listen to audio books as i drive around.
