Yes, it does. I was looking for an MM romance featuring fighters list, but sadly that doesn't exist. If you search for MMA/Boxing/Wr..."

Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments Can a 'coach' listen to an audiobook? Or do the same non-audiobook parameters apply?

Will a graphic novel count for any part of this challenge? If so, I'll put it on my wobble shelf. If not, il leave if off.

message 1204: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1439 comments Yes a coach can use an audiobook as long as it is fighting and works with the general rules of WOBBLE (ie. page length).

I just want to point out that books read during sprints cannot be used as coaches books.

No to graphic novels for the whole challenge.

Thank you!

Also, how many coach books would you want me to read?

message 1206: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1439 comments Up to 5 books Noa (but only if you want to!)

message 1207: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments I'll listen to coach books. I'm pretty sure I have REAL already. I'll check.

message 1208: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments Definitely have REAL. Sign me up as needed. :)

message 1209: by ~~~N~~~ (new)

~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments It's no problem!
message 1210: by Rebecca (new)
Rebecca (rebeccaemma) | 85 comments @ashley and @viji I'm reading Hold Still and it's my only boooooook! What should I do?
message 1211: by ~~~N~~~ (new)
~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments @Kimberly, I liked the playlist a lot.

Ashley | 1439 comments Karishma wrote: "Completed both.

What can we use them for?"

Well done!

I've used Big Rock for;
Event 2 - Page Jumping Heat 1 201-250 pgs
Silk;
Event 2 - Page Jumping Heat 1 351-400 pgs

Ashley | 1439 comments Rebecca wrote: "@ashley and @viji I'm reading Hold Still and it's my only boooooook! What should I do?"

Okay well keep reading and we'll have to figure out how to get Angeline's book in

message 1214: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1439 comments Still need more volunteers for the sprints!!

message 1215: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (rebeccaemma) | 85 comments When are the sprints? I can volunteer for up to three hours?

message 1216: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 1439 comments They aren't at any set time and can be chosen by the person sprinting. They just have to be done before the end of Olympics and in order from 1-6.

message 1217: by Ange (new)

Ange (bentleyrise) | 484 comments Ill keep Alice for heat 2 of event 1 if Rebecca is reading Hold Still.

Ashley trying to figure out how we can sub Angeline's book into without changing any of the other books around too much ... having difficulty!

message 1218: by Ange (new)

Ange (bentleyrise) | 484 comments This could work instead

Never Never - Viji (already read)
Never Never - Angeline
Never Ending Night - only a short 157 book
Night Road - Ange
Road Closed - already read by Viji
Closed for the Season - Ashley
Season of the Machete - Gillian (already read)

We lose the book read by Skandia Wedding Night though but could use this for Wheelathon?

message 1219: by Ange (new)

Ange (bentleyrise) | 484 comments The Never Ending Night is only $4 for me on kindle, its not my kind of book but Ill take one for the team if you think its good idea. Unless someone else wants to read it.

kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments We can't use Never again to use as 1st word in the relay as it has been used in Heat 1.

▲ Each leg of the heat starts new and should begin with a NEW relay word.

message 1221: by ~~~N~~~ (new)

~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments What if you start it with The Edge of Never?
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments The relay word is still Never not THE. The relay word is the last word in the title :)
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Let's leave it as it is for now and maybe Angeline will have a copy of any of the current available books. Water for Elephants is a pretty common book *fingers crossed.
message 1224: by Ashley (new)
Ashley | 1439 comments I've checked and Angeline is reading Never Never - we won't lock in any of Heat 2 until she's finished.
message 1225: by Ashley (new)
Ashley | 1439 comments Rebecca and Angeline...
You will need to select a task from Event 2 and Event 5 to complete. Of course you can pick others as well but the minimum read for Olympics is three books (Event 1, Event 2 & Event 5).
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments SPRINT REMINDERS
STEPS TO FOLLOW FOR FIGHT!
1 : Determine your Fighters (Readers)
2 : Fighters (Readers) need to make note of Date & Time they started their fight (sprint), and what page number they are starting on
3 : Fighters (Readers) should READ the full allotted sprint time
4 : When their Round is over, Fighters (Readers) need to make note of the Time they ended and how many pages completed.
5 : Fighter (Reader) must send a private message to Mod Account. with their Round, Date, Times (start & finish) & Page Counts (start & finish)
6 : Any Rounds sent to any other mods/mentors will be grounds for disqualification!
▲ 2 books MAY be used in Rounds 4-6, if a book is completed during those hours
▲ No more than 2 books may be used and only 1 book may be used in Rounds 1-3
Don't worry, Rebecca. Complete Hold Still and post it. It is your book!! I will use it later for some other task/challenge.
~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments Read: Fight by Kelly Wyre
Date: 5/7/16
Pages: 243
Fits: Coach book - One of the main characters is an MMA (underground and legit) fighter. At least 5 competitive fights happen/are attended in the book.

Random fact: Our team is the 4th chattiest in terms of # of messages.

message 1230: by ~~~N~~~ (last edited Jul 04, 2016 10:26PM) (new)

~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments I'm reading Strong Signal for Title is exactly 12 letters/numbers (Event 5).
Background books: Carry On and Water for Elephants (btw, if someone else starts this, I'll stop).
For another reading challenge, I have to read Treasure and No Apologies this week. They fit Team Coloured Book (Event 5) and 251-400 pgs (Event 3).
After those, I'll do some more Coach books.
message 1231: by Ashley (new)
Ashley | 1439 comments Thanks Noa - love your updates- such a big help!
Ooooh 4th hey. Well we need to win something in WOBBLE so maybe that's our goal!?
message 1232: by Ashley (new)
Ashley | 1439 comments Correct - are you able to do any of the sprints Karishma?
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Karishma can do all the sprints! hahaha
*and Ashley will be celebrating*
and all of us will be coaching with Noa as head coach!
Hi Angeline! By chance have you got a copy of Water for Elephants? Or any of the ff books?
On the Way to the Wedding
Closed for the season
Please check our planning spreadsheet :) and let us know what you choose.
Gillian Murrell | 497 comments can i read Chase the Dark (Steel & Stone, #1) by Annette Marie 302 pages for Arm on Cover ?
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Gillian wrote: "can i read Chase the Dark (Steel & Stone, #1) by Annette Marie 302 pages for Arm on Cover ?"
Am afraid not Gillian. At least 3 fingers need to be visible :)
Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments I'll admit, despite my best efforts, I'm feeling a little bit lost...
I'll finish NEVER BROKEN tomorrow. I don't know if it can be used for anything. It has a full arm on it - but I started it early.
Then I'm not sure what to do...
I'll read (listen to) REAL for a fight club coach book. Do I start that next? Do I have to wait for something before I start?
I have quite a few full arm books. Should I read one of them?
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments Hi Kimberly! All events are now open so you can read for any of the tasks for whatever event you want. You can see open tasks on the planning spreadsheet (link located in msge 5, page 1 of this thread). You can start listening to your coach book too.
kat (wanderfulbooks) (wanderfulbooks) | 2329 comments @Gillian: We can use it for page jumping though!
You don't have to wait for anyone to read Real. If you want to read a book with a full arm on it, the spreadsheet has two of those spots marked as empty. So, I think you can go after whichever you'd like.
I'm kind of confused too. WOBBLE is brutal, but I kind of like the chaos, lol.
message 1242: by Kimberly (new)
Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments Thanks Kat. I'll try and check the sheet tonight - but I might be home too late.
I'll read REAL next and then an arm book - probably DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE.
Is that ok?
message 1243: by ~~~N~~~ (new)
~~~N~~~ (chocolate-cannibal-bunnies) | 616 comments Read: Strong Signal by Santino Hassell and Megan Erickson

Kimberly (poweki) | 1713 comments Thanks to you too Noa. I appreciate the help. I think I'm sorted for now. :)

:D Well, I'm willing to sacrifice some time to get down and chat. I think I could survive the hardship of social interaction :P

Down the Rabbit Hole by which author?

message 1247: by Elspeth (new)

Elspeth | 101 comments Finished Still Alice. It was pretty brutal but really well done. Haven't seen the movie but am curious how they compare. Have any of y'all seen the movie? Not really spoiler: Alice in the book looks nothing like Julianne Moore but I love Julianne Moore so I don't really care :)

Read: Still Alice by Lisa Genova
Date: 5/7/16
Pages: 292
Fits: Relay

message 1248: by Elspeth (new)

Elspeth | 101 comments I could read The Time Machine for the page jumping event. It's 118 pages (and free as it's a classic. There are a lot of free, out-of-copyright books out there)

message 1249: by Elspeth (last edited Jul 05, 2016 06:27AM) (new)

Elspeth | 101 comments Or Juniper Berry. It has a full arm on the cover. Several of them actually :)

Nikki the Sapphired Book Dragon AKA NixieNut (sapphireddragon) | 1397 comments Time machine might be a good one to read Elspeth. I don't think we have any 100-150 page books for page jumping yet. :-)

I think that might just be the story thats set up my fascination with time travel books and I have seen both versions of the movie
